Any sympathy here with the view that this year's TDF has a rather odd route and is tailored very much against climbers and in favor of time trial specialists? I know the route and scheduling is often odd in Olympic years but this seems a bit extreme.
I was traveling during all of the Giro - was it similarly oddly routed?
Maybe the 2016 Criterium de Dauphine will be a 1000km 8-stage TT around and around and around Dunkirk. I'm in such a bad mood today.
It was eleven more than necessary.

It's true. 100km ITT is no problem in itself. But there's too few MTF's and the ones there are are weak..
Even the downhill finishes would normally be no problem if there was a challenging climb in front. But most of them are TOO far or not steep enough. It's a very ITT favored route.
I don't understand why Tony Martin gave his GC ambitions up so easily. Even he would stand a remarkably good chance if he really focussed on that. |

Will a French rider win stage 13?: It would be nice, but no
Will a rider be taken out of the Tour due to a positive test?: I hope not.
Time trials: Cancellara, Wiggins, Martin or a surprise?: Tony Martin
Will Cavendish finish the Tour?: No, he´ll concentrate on the Olympics.
I´m optimistic, I know. But I´d rather have an exiting Tour than a boring one with a duel between TT#1 and TT#2. I seriously hope for a lot of surprises during the Tour.

9. Danielson
10. Valverde
Most stage wins: Greipel (2-3)
Green Jersey: Sagan
Polka dots: Sanchez
Best young rider: Poels
Biggest fail(s) of the year: Vino (maybe way too obvious so...)...also Schleck
Biggest surprise(s): Cavendish winning on a (short) punchy(ish) finish / Kittel making it to Paris
Best team: Sky
Most agressive rider: Hoogerland
Bonus!
Margin between 1st and 2nd (Over/under 1m30): Over
Last ranked finisher: Veelers
Will a French rider win stage 13?: No
Will a rider be taken out of the Tour due to a positive test?: No (not during at least)
Time trials: Cancellara, Wiggins, Martin or a surprise?: Martin
Will Cavendish finish the Tour?: No
So guessed the winner but 4/10 for top 10 (ignore the positions I gave them )
Most stage wins: Greipel (2-3) - pretty good
Green Jersey: Sagan - too obvious even for me
Polka dots: Sanchez - put the curse on him
Best young rider: Poels - looking good before I put the curse on him but glad to hear he is slowly recovering from his horrific injuries
Biggest fail(s) of the year: Vino (maybe way too obvious so...)...also Schleck - there's fail and there's FAIL, Schleck definitely gets the caps...
Biggest surprise(s): Cavendish winning on a (short) punchy(ish) finish / Kittel making it to Paris - so so wrong
Best team: Sky - think we were talking subjective rather than RSNT's obsession with the team classification but anyway obvious pick
Most agressive rider: Hoogerland - possibly he was the most aggressive...after each stage in the team bus after he failed to make any impact whatsoever (think he had crash injuries though)
Margin between 1st and 2nd (Over/under 1m30): Over - thought it was always going to be a fairly big given Wiggins form this year and the TT km's
Last ranked finisher: Veelers - was looking good for it until the abandon, it's a a fine line
Will a French rider win stage 13?: No - less obvious then it seemed given French success in stage wins
Will a rider be taken out of the Tour due to a positive test?: No (not during at least) - inlcuded the answer to this in the fail section though
Time trials: Cancellara, Wiggins, Martin or a surprise?: Martin - seriously put the curse on him
Will Cavendish finish the Tour?: No - his reovery powers are unbelievable and always have been, I should never have doubted him even after he completed the Giro
So pretty hit and miss but fun to look back at and relieve the cycling void for a few minutes |

Di Gregorio, Avin. Your positive test question is correct already, no need to wait.
And no point pulling out my predictions, I got everything wrong
Actually, everyone is forgetting Di Gregorio.
