The TT was a Mountain ITT (MITT) so yea, not really designed for Martin or Cancellara.

Date | Route (Type) | Result | Feb16-20 | Volta ao Algarve | 53rd, +21'02" | Feb16 | Estadio Algarve - Albufeira (Hills) | 51st, +1'59" | Feb17 | Lagoa - Lagos (Hills) | 60th, +6'27" | Feb18 | Tavira - Alto do Malhão (Hills) | 87th, +12'04" | Feb19 | Albufeira - Tavira (Sprint) | 89th, +0" | Feb20 | Lagoa - Portimão (ITT) | 27th, +41" |
As a start to the 2015 season Garmin - Barracuda tried to find its young star to be a tour that should be designed for him. The Volta ao Algarve fit the description perfectly with several hilly stages playing the Lewis's strengths, however the poor early season riding we have seen from Lewis in the past seasons appears to be a continuing trend. Hopefully this is just a case of rusty legs and will not affect Kyle in some of the more important races later on this season.

In the world class Tirreno - Adriatico we got to see Kyle Lewis ride himself into form. His effort just nearly got him first in the young rider classification, ending up just 26" behind Peter Sagan for that title. We can only hope that his form continues to be this good throughout the Spring and into the Summer. Perhaps finally he is going to put a full season together instead of just a good Summer and Fall.

I'm not riding any of the races, this is a simulation. I don't control Lewis at all, (or his team). For those that haven't read the opening disclaimer to this thread, I will restate the important parts.
I started in 2012 (with the 2012 DB), and altered the best US young rider (Lewis). I control one of the worst Continental teams so I cannot affect his career in anyway. All I am doing is simply focusing on writing on what he does. I'm not watching the races (except for a few I did as a trial run in his first Giro) and even when I do, I'm controlling a wasted team (much like the Man-Game does) and letting the computer decide how he should ride.
As we can see so far he was signed by Garmin - Barracuda, he has been training as a puncher so far (much to my disappointment). His starting stats were all in the 60s and now he is getting into the upper 70s in some categories.
So to answer the question though it only takes me 5-10 minutes to finish a couple of weeks in the game.

Ah right, I knew about not controlling him, was just intrigued as to how you're getting through it so quickly, i guess you dont play many races with your team then?

No, I don't care about the team I have, I don't do anything with them. They are just there because I actually have to control a team to play career mode...

Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco 2015
Date | Route (Type) | Result | Apr4-9 | Vuelta Ciclista al Pais Vasco | 21st, +17'49" | | Apr4 | Zierbana - Zierbana (Hills) | 23rd, +1'01" | | Apr5 | Zierbana - Viana (Hills) | 39th, +5'48" | | Apr6 | Viana - Amurrio (Hills) | 18th, +1'51" | | Apr7 | Murgia Zuia - Eibar (Hills) | 73rd, +7'57" | | Apr8 | Eibar - Orio (Hills) | 19th, +2'14" | | Apr9 | Orio (HITT) | 66th, +1'19"
I'm sure Kyle is happy to be riding here in Spain rather than dealing with the cobbles of Northern Europe for the first time in his career, and Garmin - Barracuda probably agrees as Kyle was able to take the young rider classification from the start and did a great job in helping teamate Rigoberto Urán to a 4th overall. With him now seeming to be settling into good form perhaps we may see a win at some point this season.

Kyle Lewis is no longer just another rider in the peloton at these long classics. With a pair of top 5 finishes and the other at 15th the field has to keep tabs on the young American. Garmin's put a lot of work into Kyle and the work is paying off now with several good finishes early this season, his contract does come up this year, and it will be interesting to see how much teams are willing to pay for him as he continues to impress.

Amgen Tour of California 2015
Date | Route (Type) | Result | May15- | Amgen Tour of Califonria | 1st, -18" | | May15 | S. Lake Tahoe - Northstar (Hills) | 3rd, +10" | | May16 | North Lake Tahoe - Sacramento (Breakaway) | 92nd, +1'11" | | May17 | Auburn - Modesto (Sprint) | 96th, +0" | | May18 | Livermore - San Jose (Hills) | 13th, +48" | | May19 | Seaside - Paso Robles (Hills) | 4th, +7'17" | | May20 | Solvang (ITT) | 8th, +18" | | May21 | Claremont - Mt. Baldy (Mountains) | 16th, +1'21" | | May22 | Santa Clarita - Thousand Oaks (Sprint) | 107th, +0"
Lewis Wins! The Amgen Tour of California is the first career win for Kyle Lewis. He continues to have never been the first to cross the finish line and get a stage win, but he would rather have the top place at the end of the tour.
A good start to get into the top group on the opening stage would set the pace for the rest of the tour, but it would be the 5th stage where he would finally take the lead as he was the 4th rider to finish. Levi Leipheimer had a 14" advantage over Kyle but lost 1'07 in the 5th stage, giving Kyle the lead by 53". From here the race had really started between these two riders. Kyle would add another 8" to his lead in the ITT before heading to Mount Baldy and a chance for Levi to make up the time. The older Leipheimer did everything he could finishing 38" off the pace of Nairo Quintana and leaving the young Kyle Lewis behind him trying to finish in the next 1'01". Lewis would cross the line at +1'21" and +43" to Levi. Kyle would hold on to the lead by 18" and finish the final flat stage in the leader's jersey. As a show of sportsmanship Levi, who announced earlier this would be his last season, gave Kyle a huge hug on the podium as perhaps a sign of a passing of the torch from the old (41) to the young (21).
