I don't think the sponsors will be happy with Sagan as leader, he may be a great rider, but don't forget, he isn't Italian.
That said, I'd love to see Szmyd actually trying to get a good GC, instead of seeing him helping Basso/Nibali |

A 1000 times yes to that. Szmyd for a GC would be awesome. Let him shine instead of being a workhorse, and if it doesn't work out, then just let him go back to being the pacemaker, no big whop

It'd be interesting to see what Szmyd would do. But I think they have other plans for the team... |

There are many great riders who we think also can be leaders.
To be GT leader also need some special karma and kick..Rogers did not have it, Horner dont have it, Leipheimer dont have it, Klöden did not have it, Kreuziger and Porte at least yet does not have it. All these riders are amazing 6 day racers and winners..but not enough leaders for GT.
Still it is fun to watch top form Szmyd..when he moves to the front of the group and destroying a peloton day after day. |

When did last year Porte get a lead at GT ? He rode Giro and Tour as Contador helper. We'll see this Tour. Kreuziger is still only 25 and got a good GC as last year's Giro, and looks improved this year, no idea why he isn't good enough at this age as well But I agree on the point you made.

Well, Leipheimer podiumed the Vuelta twice and the Tour, two of those times while being a domestique of AC. He's the one who pushed AC more to his limit, so a bit unfair to put him on that list imo.

Sorry but you must be joking, these riders are clear leaders, first two of them scored GT podiums and they have that problem, that they were in the same team with best stage-racers of their genaration - Armstrong, Ullrich, Contador,Schleck.
Kreuziger just turned 26 and he is multiple top 10 finisher at the Tour and scored 6th place on the toughest Giro of the decade while still being under 25. He will show you at the Giro this year

Absolutely, they're Miche's successors of that title. Hope Frei don't forget his water this time.

As long as a athlete is allowed to do his sports, a team can engage them. Remind you that not only convicted dopers are doping themselves.
Most Pro-Tour teams have a lower morale concerning doping than Christina Watches-Onfone.

He doped, he admitted it and he told how easy it is to not get caught, but that does not say anything about his future.
Some dopers continue to dope, some don't. But the same goes for the riders which never doped before, some continue to stay clean, some don't. |

So? The amount of riders with a doping offense in that team make them similar to RR, and I did not say anything about their morale?
