Sorry guys
I'll be working on the reserve post stuff today, because I've just realised I would be wasting my time off, if I didn't, so likely my whole day gone with that.
If I can I'll do the update that reveals where he will be going today too though.

December 13th, 2013
Hey guys,
I know you have been eagerly awaiting the announcement about where I will be riding next season. I'd just like to say, it has been a pleasure racing for Team Sky for the two seasons I was with them.
But now I have some great news. I was working on a deal with a Continental team, and it was taking a while to solve all the details, and then a North American team jumped in and gave me an offer worth a lot more, which was a shock for everybody!
So without further adieu, I can announce that I will be riding for Spidertech! However something really crazy happened. I kept getting strange messages from Steve Bauer, who of course is the manager of Spidertech, and he kept telling me, that the date we were supposed to meet for trraining camp, in a week and a half, over in France, was a soft date. I kept wondering why we didn't have this booked fully with less than 2 weeks before we were supposed to go to camp.
But a few days later, the news broke out, and believe me, I was shocked! Spidertech had folded. The news reports didn't say that it was anything to do with finances, so I really wasn't too sure why the tea, had folded. It of course was a huge blow to me, because I had almost no time to find a new team. Steve sent me all his apologies. There's just nothing I could do, so I forgave him.
But what happened next was probably a real life saver. 3 or 4 days after the initial announcement, Steve invited me, to Toronto for a meeting. A few other former Spidertech riders also showed up, but not the whole team, just a few of us. He told us about a deal he was trying to work out. He couldn't guarantee anything, but he told us, that atleast we would be riding for the upcoming season. That night I go back to my hotel, and hang out with a few of the guys, and we get a good sleep in the Suite's. First thing I do in the morning is read my emails and to my surprise, this is what it read:
Then I scrolled down and saw the team that Spidertech had merged with:
I was ecstatic to say the least, because that meant I was returning to Sky. I know that they are probably the strongest team in the world now, so I would say that this was an extremely lucky occurrence for me. I know I will be welcomed back into the team with open arms by all the Sky management, and all the riders, so this is really the dream move for me.
Steve said that at first it was Spidertech's plan to get into the Tour de France by 2015, so the merge works great for him, as his team has made it into the ProTour, and therefore a great chance at getting in the Tour. Not only that, but for him, this is a huge step. He will become one of the teams Directeur Sportif's and as part of the deal, Sky-Spidertech will now bring in a few Spidertech riders, including myself, but to please the sponsors, they could also bring in any top Canadian riders who are without a contract as well.
For me, I just can't wait to get to Training Camp now, and I know that, I will want to be one of the top Canadian riders on the team, as well as one of the top riders in general.
Bye guys, see you when the season starts!
David

Great idea of the merger. But, come on, tell me Française Des Jeux had been in talks with him. |

You wonder ?
Best Bus, Best Service and Best Team. You can't ask for more Although David will not be a leader that much, it's still great choice imo, and again nice blog

Very nice twist, for a second their I though you were going to be the leader of a new Canadian team, but the merger was also a good result for David. Can't wait to see the jersey

@ Freitas- Thank you! FDJ would have been a good team for sure, and it would be a good way of getting back at Europcar
@ fcancellara- Thanks
@ dienblad - Yeah I did
@ Alakagom- Exactly. But I also wanted to move to Spidertech or a Conti team, but I didn't think it was realistic for him to come from CT to Sky and then 2 years later leave for the CT again. Plus I love Sky and the team I've built.
@ Sutty- Thanks a lot, glad you liked it then Thanks, I really hope I enjoy myself too, as well as the readers enjoying it too!
@ DJP- Thanks. Haven't seen you here much
@ Teddy- Thanks. I made a quick shirt, wasn't that great, then I asked ANFreeman and he's made me a quick one based on I think Velomans jersey, but now he's going back and making his own sky jersey and adding some personal touches to it.
@ Johannes- Thats alright, its great to see you again! Thank you, and I thought so too! The best of both worlds for me!
His stats have increased actually!
@ Avin- Thank you, glad you like the idea!
@ olabj- Thank you, glad you're enjoying it!
@ Mresuperstar- Thanks a lot, great to hear. And glad to know. I was trying to throw in a few red herrings before revealing the actual news.
Just a thank you to everyone. The Jersey will be revealed soon, but there may be 2 versions. ANFreeman is quite busy, but in the middle of making my request, although he did a pretty good job on his "quick" jersey that he made, so I can use that for the time being.
Also, I'm working on the reserves today, so no peeking Just kidding but some stuff may get finished while other stuff doesn't
