A helicopter view of the crash ... it could have gone a lot worse than it did. How the Garmin rider avoids being smashed into the car is quite unbelieveable.
Kudos to the Roelandts who just avoided the spectators at full speed. This could've been a lot worse. Wouter Mol of Vacansoleil seems to have caught the wheel of the FDJ guy (Hutarovich?) which caused the crash.
Edit: Seems like suddenly the Lampre guys, along with the FDJ guy (who even had to brake) went a bit to the right en the Vacansoleil rider didn't react in time.

I don't for the life of me understand why Petacchi wasn't disqualified. That move was dangerous

Tour de Suisse, right? That's exactly what came to my mind.

Yeah. It's pretty impressive how Greipel avoids the crash and even beats Petacchi, but it's just a matter of luck that it didn't end up as the 2nd serious crash in the stage. Certainly Petacchi should have been DQ'd, imo.
Second Stage has alredy started and i cant believe Kohler is again in the breakaway.
with that stage one, the spectators escaped with no serious injury. still a sickening crash though, riders coming at you and a big dust cloud hides the crash
Next season GreenEdge will come good it happenend to sky and leopard both had first seasons of getting the team togther and working out tactics so i wouldn't worry about GreenEdge at the moment

Funny to use this two words together
But you are right with Greenedge i think, they cant start winning right away. Unfotunately for them, they start with the most impotrtant race for the team.
