Cyclocross season 11/12
Wilier
Women

Once again, Vos was unstoppable. The battle for 2nd place was really good though and had to be decided in a sprint. Sanne Cant rode the race of her life to finish 3rd in her home country.

So, I watched my first cyclocross race just now.

Looks pretty pointless

That must be one of the most boring races I've ever seen.

Albert escaped in the first lap en only increased his lead every lap. So Albert is now the new Belgian...... I, mean World Champion.

That was the most boring cyclocross race I've seen, by a long way. I love cyclocross, but this wasn't a great season, and that race was the worst of the lot. Oh well.

Yes, but what i don't understand is that in Road-Cycling if someone totally dominates a stage (Landis, Andy) everybody screams: HEROOO! if a cyclocross rider dominates everybody says BOORING...

Just nice Belgian ownage Grin

Great ride by all the Belgian riders. But can you stay that they dominated, or that the others totally sucked? Riders as Simunek and Mourey, loosing over 3 minutes.... And then I say nothing about my countrymen, the Dutch....

But all respect for Albert, what a terrific ride, totally deserved the WC!

According to some of the other riders, Stybar wasn't motivated today. This could be the end of Stybar in cyclo-cross.

PCM rulezz
On belguim tv Albert said he was ready for a 1 hour time trail, and Nys said that this was maybe his last world championship.

dienblad
Stybar wasn't motivated??? Come on, it was the World Championship, when you aren't motivated then, you should quit and even get fired by your team.....
Nijs has told before that he will continue untill 2014, so he'll probably ride the WC untill then.
imageshack.us/a/img171/3023/petronasmesig2.png

PCM rulezz
Before the race he said that he will continue untill 2014 but after the race he said that there is a chance that he stops with the WC.

What a boring race these national champs of Belgium...wait, that was a Worlds Smile
I read interview with Stybar, he says he wasn't fit at all, had problems with cold the day before the race. He was doing his best in the first rounds according to him, but then he had been broken in his mind, seeing that he is out of the podium battle.
So it was not about the motivation, for him it is not important if it is 5th place or 13th i think, he was interested only in podium, that sound reasonable.
But good race for Simunek, he was the only one to challenge the Belgians a little.
Overall i hate this beach course Wink
I'll be back

Next year the race is in the USA, I believe Salt Lake? Probably a different race, with a fast, icy track.

Strange that the UCI decided to take the MTB Fourcross out of the World Cup schedule, because it wasn't global enough, and than looking at a world championship cyclocross, where one country takes the places 1-7.....
