I've decided to take a break from writing the story to update the game's equipment. I'm a novice with editing so I don't know how long I'll be as I plan to update all equipment for the protour teams, but hopefully it won't be too long... I'll also be planning on doing further visual updating to the teams at the end of the season.
Hopefully after I finish this the screenshots will look a bit nicer / more realistic in any case |

I think I got everything to work ok and it didn't take very long at all after all!
But we'll find out if there are any problems with my editing soon enough in any case.
Thanks to Pcmdaily 2010 DB, PCM08 2009 Maximum Equipment DB and the various graphics thread uploaders for PCM 08/09.

Stage 6
Bressanone - Mayrhofen : 236.5km
We have another day for the climbers as the riders take a long trip to cross the border into Austria.
10km from the top of the last climb Cunego was off, followed by pink jersey Nibali.
5km to the summit and Vandevelde, Vanendert, Nocentini, Di Luca and Scarponi had joined them.
Just as Paulinho had rode across, Nibali and Cunego were at it again.
Cunego accelerated away and crossed the top alone.
Nocentini, Vanendert, Scarponi, Nibali and Vandevelde were around 30 seconds back on him. Di Luca was a further 40 seconds back at the top.
Cunego built up a minute lead on the descent and now had to hold on for 8km on a slight slope.
He really rode hard on those last few kilometres and held on to take the magalia rosa back from Nibali. This duel goes on...
Nocentini, Nibali, Vandevelde, Scarponi, Vanendert: +1'01

Stage 7
Innsbruck - Chiavenna : 240.9km
Another long stage concludes the first week of the giro by taking us back across into Italy. And it's another interesting stage too, with around 200km of gradual climbing before we plummet down to the finish, suggesting a bunch sprint.
The escapees were caught as we went through the mountain sprint and from then on we were set for a sprint finish.
For once Pozzato stayed clear of trouble and was up there as the sprint began. Surely today would be his day?
Yes it was, he had more than enough power to keep him clear of the field and took the win ahead of Gasparotto and Bazayev.

Stage 8
Morbegno - Bergamo : 209.4km
Not neccessarily a day for the GC but nonetheless most likely one for the climbers rather than the sprinters.
The day's break: Ermeti, Turgot, Frank, Wyss, Ginanni, Hernandez Blazquez.
Francesco Masciarelli, Kiserlovski and Carrara were on the offensive at the 65km mark. Clement and Petrov decided to join them... but their efforts were in vain as the peloton clawed them back.
8th placed Rohregger made a move with 5km to the top of the second mountain sprint.
And then the magalia rosa was off on the attack. Karpets and Sanchez were first to respond whilst Liquigas sent Basso up the road - perhaps Nibali wasn't feeling great today.
Simoni, Di Luca, Uran and Monfort were next to make a move.
With 3km to the top, amidst a field of failed attackers and escapees, the tri-colour trio of Nibali (points), Vanendert (young rider) and Vandevelde (mountains) were off in pursuit.
Cunego passed the top alone...
...Basso and Di Luca came over the top a minute down on their fellow countryman. Most the other favourites including Nibali were a further 30 seconds back.
And just like in stage 6 Cunego was able to keep his advantage on the descent and run-in, showing us his qualities as an all-rounder. He takes more time out of Nibali and is beginning to emerge as the race favourite.
Karpets, Sanchez, Nibali, Di Luca, Vanendert, Simoni, Basso, Rohregger, Uran, Vandevelde: +1'19
Paulinho, Le Mevel, Nocentini: +2'26

Yeah he seems to have the advantage over Nibali so far but there's still 75km of ITTing to come which will favour Nibali.
And I thought you might be happy cunego |

Stage 9
Milano - Milano : 144.9km
With such a flat stage and no racing tommorow, you might have thought that the giro was over. But in fact we are just taking a trip around Milan today, and will follow it up with the first rest day. The GC men will have to be on gaurd as these sort of stages are notorious for crashes, but the sprinter's will be licking their lips at this one.
The 11-man break: Scognamiglio,Mariangeli, Eichler, Pichot, Serov, Bovay, Jacobs, Louder, Henderson, Tosatto, Roberts. They are all caught by the 15km mark.
Hondo positions Gasparotto up front whilst Pozzato also has his team-mate's wheel on the far side.
Fischer jumped early from Gasparotto's wheel but he was alert and followed the Brazilian whilst Pozzato was just coming off his team-mate's wheel too.
But whilst Pozzato faded, Gasparotto powered away from the others to take a comfortable win. Bozic pipped Fischer for 2nd.
Fortunately 18th placed Ten Dam was the only notable victim of a crash today.

Stage 10
Cuneo - Pinerolo (264km)
Another long and difficult stage finishing with a descent. However with the top of the final climb only 12km from the finish we can expect more fireworks.
Forgot to save a couple of the photos but they weren't crucial.
The break: Frank, Ginanni and Niermann. They were to have a long day in the saddle ahead of them and ended up getting caught half way up the main climb.
On the descent of the first main climb, Nocentini went right over the handlebars. Perhaps hampered by the fall he failed to make his way back to the pack and ended any hopes of a top 10 in the process.
The dissapointing Garzelli (94th in GC) was out looking to make ammends today and set off on an early attack. He crossed the day's largest climb alone at the front... with an advantage of 2 minutes on Di Luca, Vanendert and Vandevelde who had sprinted for the mountain points ahead of Cunego, Basso and Nibali.
On the descent the Little Prince was at it again and rode across to Di Luca, Vanendert and Vandevelde and the four of them soon caught up with Garzelli.
Nibali was starting to have concerns about this strong leading group and set off in pursuit.
And he was right in his concerns - once again it was Cunego charging on ahead up the climb.
Di Luca was second over the top, 35 seconds down, and was closely followed by Nibali.
Somewhat surprisingly next through was the so-far quiet Simoni of Serramenti. The likes of Vandevelde, Vanendert and Basso were all around 2'30 down on Cunego.
Cunego punched his arms in the air to claim his 4th stage win and affirm his dominance in the mountains. He's really beginning to pull away from the others.
Di Luca & Nibali: +41
An impressive ride from Simoni: +1'57
Vanendert, Basso, Scarponi, Garzelli, Vandevelde, Rohregger, Uran, Paulinho: +2'51
It might only be stage 10 but it's beginning to look as though this is Cunego's race to lose - Nibali really needs to pull something out of the bag in the remaining mountain stages and time trials to have any hopes of the win.

Stage 11
Torino - Arenzano (206km)
A relatively flat stage fit for a sprinter.
11 escapees today: Frei, Rasmussen, Lequatre, Gavazzi, Stannard, Henderson, Jacobs, Friedman, Van Impe, Bellis & Franzoi. The pack was back together again with 18km to go.
As the sprint opened up, Gasparotto had Paolini and Pozzato on his wheel.
Paolini looked to make his move but Pozzato seemed boxed out...
Gasparotto managed to hold on to take a second stage victory and a 6th for Lampre. Pozzato took second by centimetres ahead of Paolini and Cunego took a 4th to add to his impressive points tally.

Stage 12
Sestri Levante - Riomaggiore (63km)
We have an absolutely gruelling time trial today. 63km long with 2 long climbs. Nibali needs to have good legs today to be able to take as much time out of Cunego as possible, although the hilly nature of the course suits Cunego more than usual. Vandevelde and Sanchez will also seek to gain time today.
Grabsch set the early best.
+6'24 (34th)
The Canadian TT champion, Tuft
+4'29 (15th)
Clement
+3'12 (9th)
Gasparotto couldn't quite best Clement's time.
+3'21 (10th)
At the first checkpoint, Nibali goes through with the best time so far. But Cunego is right behind him in 2nd... Going through the second checkpoint Cunego has dropped back a little, and is now 1'15 off Nibali's blistering pace.
Scarponi puts out a strong performance.
+2'24 (5th)
Basso seems to be refinding his form as we progress and he took 3rd place today.
+1'41 (3rd)
Karpets
+2'30 (7th)
Luis Leon Sanchez really put out a great performance in his Spanish colours, but it was only best for second on the day. He moves back up to 5th in the GC though.
+1'38 (2nd)
Uran should be relatively pleased with his time trial.
+2'31 (8th)
Rohregger
+5'03 (21st)
Nibali was truly a man on a mission today, picking up Vandevelde along the way and nearly making his way up to Di Luca (12th, +4'08) around the final bend. He deservedly takes the stage win.
Vandevelde
+2'29 (6th)
Cunego
+1'52 (4th)
Cunego knew he was going to be limiting his losses today, but everyone was totally blown away by Nibali today. He needs to hold it together in the mountains. Meanwhile Nibali will now be in great spirits and has certainly sent out a clear message today: This Giro is not over.
