After creating your stage in the editor, you have to save the file and you get a zcts file, just to open with the editor.
Then you go to cities->rebuild all cities.
Then you export the stage (somewhere below save) You always have to rebuild stages first as you just export what you see in the 3d window. If there aren`t visible towns, then they also aren`t there ingame. After exporting you get 2 more files. cds and zces.
These are the files you need in CM_Stages for the game and can also be opened in the Stage Viewer.
How can I drive the stage in the game "PCM 2011" ? |

Add the stage with the official editor.
You could also look for the Add race thread in PCM08 or PCM09 in this forum. |

C/Programs/Cyanide/PCM2011 and choose 'CTStageViewer', press 'Open', and find your stage.
But.. i can only open ".ces" ".zces" files but i can´t save it as those files ?
You can also use the spline view directly in the editor : Ctrl+2
I've heard about this option by Cyaboys only two weeks ago and it's very useful to have a better view of the roads especially in mountain
Nice information. Haven`t known this but a nice addition. |

Has anyone experimented with the new "Google Maps" feature yet? If I'm not mistaken it seems to overlay the GPX/DEM data with the road/river/city lay-out of Google Maps. Or was it in the PCM10 stage editor already and I just failed to find it?
Can someone explain me this better? I didn't quite understand what is the new "Google Maps" feature and how to work it in this stage editor.
Thanks. |

Open a gpx file or coordinates.
Then go into the topview window -> on the right the 2nd window then -> on top of it google maps or something like this.
Then you have a google maps map in the top window. There you see roads, national parks, cities, lakes etc.

You never heard of it?
I use that all the time when creating stages.

I just zoom very close. If zoom isn`t possible to go closer, just make a single spline and check the route. Then go to the spline error and you can also zoom that close. It`s pretty much the same than this way actually. |

Realistic slopes are the most important. The mountains should have constant slopes and no jump from negative to positive slopes each 100m. This unfortunately takes lots of time but it is worth it. Otherwise you won`t get good results.
Other thing is, that fantasy variants should still be realistic. It`s not realistic if you have just 2 sprint stages but 12 mountain top finishes or 6 time trials. |

I understand , but i have another question , let's say i want to make a stage of Paris-Nice 2007 , how do I make in bikeroutetoaster or bikemap the exact same route as the real stage ?
Thanks for the answers

Find an altimetry, or even better, a planimetry of the stage(s).

It's allways possible to come closer. Use X.

Obviously there are plenty of tricks I still haven`t known. So I always had to trick the editor to reach the same.
Thanks. |

Change it out with an old stage, and then switch back when your done playing it. Or make a db where you include it.

Indeed. Wouldn`t really surprise me as I think it was even a mistake that it was in there. |
