Saxo Bank-SunGards team for the Tour de France. Nice to see Vandborg is there Smile

They left off Larsson. I think they should have taken him over Noval, can be a big help in the TTT and also decent in the mountains.

It might be unprofessional, but I think they picked Noval, because he is a very good friend of Contador.

Yeah I think that's one of the reasons. Other than that Noval is a good domestique.

Personally I would've picked Larsson over Vandborg or Tosatto as well.

i'm gonna guess at Feillu for Leopard's last spot

I think Posthuma will number 9 in Leopard's squad, because of the TTT.

If you are planning to win the Tour with Contador... and he has a group of teammates that already proved that they do an excellent work for him... Why not to listen the best GT rider of the moment?

Here we are not talking about friendship... this is about making Contador the winner of the 2011 TdF.

I didn't say that Noval is bad domestique, I just said that Contador rather chooses him than any other helper for flat stages.

If you look closely at races, than you often see that Noval is always riding alognside Contador.

My point about friendship was that Contador probably said to Riis that he wants Noval to be one of his domestiques at tour.

Of course... Obviously Contador feels better with those guys around him. They know when and how to push to prepare the attack of his leader.

Riis must had listened to Alberto's opinion before making the line up.

Bad fall for Alexander Porsev in the Belgian race "Halle Ingooigem"
Bad news for Team Katusha, Alexander Porsev, one of the pre-selected riders for the upcoming Tour de France 2011, today fell badly during the Belgian one-day race "Halle Ingooigem". The Russian rider accidentally hit an artificial road obstacle: they brought him at the hospital in Ronse right away with the ambulance, and the medical examinations found a concussion, a profound wound under his right eye, the fracture of the nasal septum, the break of two teeth and several abrasions in his body. Porsev will stay in the next days in Belgium, in order to have the surgery operations.

Why to sign Contador friends anyway..
Mountains..you do not go far with Sörensen and Porte...you take

Jesus Hernandez
Dani Navarro
Benjamin Noval (as friend )

Now we talking.
I am still believing that Contador-Riis are after triple GT win..but they keep on denying that.

Riis as enough for Larsson..he almost forced himself inside the tour squad a year ago..and was total wuss..in the action. Guy is just anoying.

Astana's line up:

Alexandre Vinokourov (Kaz), Rémy Di Gregorio (Fra), Dmitriy Fofonov (Kaz), Andriy Grivko (Ukr), Maxim Iglinskiy (Kaz), Roman Kreuziger (Cze) Paolo Tiralongo (Ita), Tomas Vaitkus (Ltu) and Andrey Zeits (Kaz).

No Kessiakoff is a surprise for me.

They do have a good team without Kessiakoff though.

Kreuziger, Tiralongo and Zeits as mountain domestiques.

All of the 3 can climb well. Zeits recently placed 15th in Dauphine's GC as a helper for Vino.

Vaitkus and Grivko will be important for the flatt stages and the TTT.

Overal it's a capable team for a top 5 placing.
Venga Vino

Don't think Vino is capable of a Top 5.
