I also think it's not especially about the many patches, but it's about the big bugs even after these many patches.
Yes, it's a common phenomenon in most games these days. But there are examples how to not do it: I know you can't compare it, but in minecraft it only takes like a week for big bugs to be fixed. And that with only one (!) developer in the beginning.
That is only possible if you have users reporting bugs and even more important: if you have a developer reading these reports! I so bet that if they would cooperate more with us community, we wouldn't have atleast half of the bugs we still have after the last patch.
But they already showed that they aren't really interested in that over the last years. That's why we need to force them more with louder critics. You don't have to criticize everything, because it isn't all that bad as it may sound. But if you stay still and be like ass-kissing it won't get any better.
Anyway, when will start the pre-ordering today? Any infos?

Just out of curiosity, can you mention any newer game that didn't have any patches?
don't know, don't play any other games.
but thats not an excuse for releasing a game with such a major floor. yes, small little things like wrong names or unrealistic transfers may get through the testers. but to release a game that is pretty much unplayable in terms of realism is unforgivable.
also, even the patches released often have bugs, sometimes making things worse.
i know there will always be some small bugs in the first release. but to release a game in the state they released it last year was taking the piss out of the loyal fans like me who have brought the game for the last 4 or 5 years. |

Wrong names has to do with licensing issues. Every single game since the dawn of time has had bugs and glitches, maybe with the exception of Tetris. Besides, the mistakes that were made in this years game were not something that had been prominent on the earlier years, atleast not as I recall.
Keep in mind that Cyanide is a small company and they do a pretty good job when you think about the manpower and budgett they have.
Hell, EA probably have more people who's only job is getting coffee than Cyanide has designers. |

yes, but thats still no excuse for releasing a game where Contador wins bunch sprints etc.
i understand the budget restraints of cyanide. but how does that stop them noticing such a major problem? they've got the beta testers who i'm guessing would have noticed that floor, so why didn't they do anything about it?
thats my point. i can understand small bugs. but what they released last year was pretty much unplayable. there's a big difference. |

Beta testers is only there for finding bugs. But as we know most of the beta testers apply only for playing the game...
And if any of you have any experince with programming you should know how hard it is to track down these bugs. It takes time and they have to follow a timeline to release the game in June. So of course it's not bug free at the start. You should just be glad that Cyanide is still releasing cycling games, since it dont sell as well as football games and hockey games.
I am still preordering.

I agree! If it wasnt for Cyandie there wouldnt be a cycling game on the market(most likely) and not a forum like this either. I think they do a great job every year and I will keep buying their game! |

and if people keep buying the game, maby Cynaid will make more money and the game will have less and less bugs for each year... (but it will ALWAYS have some bugs)... If people STOP buying PCM then you only accomplish that the game goes of the marked...
My preorder has been in for 3 weeks now, and i think everyone who wants the game to keep coming, and keep developing should by it also, bugs or no bugs...

I think you people are too afraid of Cyanide stopping the production of new PCMs.
Yes, they are a small company. But that's also the reason why they can't stop producing this series. What other games do they have which guarantee them so many sold copies?
Not buying the game would be a statement to them. That we don't accept the fact that they release unfinished games year after year. That we don't accept their behaviour against the community.
Don't get me wrong: There is nothing wrong in buying a good game. But don't do it because you're afraid they don't continue. My understanding of the word "support" isn't to always buy their stuff no matter what. If they see the no. of sold copies going down, then that's also a way of showing them they do something wrong.
And in my opinion that's better than hoping that they sometimes maybe create a good bugfree game by accident |

I think Cyanide did a reasonable job with PCM2010 and i'll be happy to preorder PCM2011 when it comes out. Cyanide should keep working with PCM and make it the best as they can. im looking forward to the new changes added to the game but i'll wait till the FULL game is complete rather than play a few stages |

And obviously there are again some shops around that already have the game.
Like last year Germany seems to be the fastest in this part. |
