South Lake Tahoe to North Lake Tahoe-Northstar at Tahoe Resort
Hilly stage today which means big troubles for me. However I really enjoyed the beautiful envivorment on this stage.
In the two last hills lampre and Euskaltel paced hard and was in deep trouble and had to drop. There was no chance of coming back so my chances in the GC was destroyed just as I had thought.
Fuglsang had a good chance for victory as his sprint is pretty good bu a puncture in the downhill destroyed his chance. He reached the bunch in the and advanced to 15th but he wasn't even close to win today. Instead Lampre's Francesco Gianni won before his team mate Sella. Lampre domination in other words.
I finished 64th. I rode hard all the way to finish to minimum my loses in the youth's. After today's stage I am 2'41 after Bjorn Selander.

Downhill or road cycling?
214 km long stage today and 100 kms are downhill. Since the very pretty big time gaps yesterday there was a chance for a break to go clear and I got a gap with an Vacansoleil rider. I didn't understood a single word he said as he was ditch and his english was really bad.
2 men in the front was to less and we were easily caught by the bunch.
HTC did a huge work in the end and Tyler Farrar won the sprint ahead of Cardoso and Bos. Fuglsang finished 11th and gained some places in the GC.
I finshed 141th. Luckly I was given the same time as the bunch so no time lost for me although I've benn in the the break all day long.

Stage 3
Plain stage from Auburn - Modesto that is ended up in a criterium in Modesto. Not much to say about this stage as we doesn't have any sprinter in our team. Ingar Koretejärvi was in the breawy today and the group was bigger than yesterday when we only were two.
Vacanasoleil and Glud - Marstrand was the teams who chased. My tem, H&M Racing, has no sprinter so we were not intressted in chasing. However the breakaway was caught and it all ended up in sprint.
The leader, Gianni started the sprint but he didn't had enough power when Thomas Vedel Kvist accelerate from a bad posistion and won the sprint. Fuglsang advanced in the peleton and reached a 7th place.

Sun in San Jose
Key stage today. Rated as a hilly stage but as we learn in Gila ypou should never trust PCM rating system on stages.
The race was pretty calm until thoose two last mountains, and yes they were mountains and no hills, when Lampre started to pushing hard in the front of the bunch.
Anton (Euskaltel) and Moreno (Katusha) was the strongest. I didn't managed to follow and so either did Fuglsang. My legs was burning and I was thinking about to stop and walk the last kilometers.
There wasn't much to do about Anton today, he actually won pretty easy. Moreno was 2nd and Fuglsang manged 9th.
I was suffering the las km and lost 1'25 on Anton. Far away in the GC but I won the Youth's stage ranking and also captured the white jersey! And Kiserlovski who had benn in the brekaway today took the lead in the Mountains rankings.

First signing by H&M Racing Team
Altough it is only May H&M Racing team have signed their first rider. The manager laidbackmarc tell us:
We have watched Marian for a long time now. He did som top 20ths last year but this year he has developed to an U23 world star. He started this season with an stage win in GP de Portugal. He was 2nd at one stage in Giro delle Regioni and 2nd in L-B-L U23. He was 10th at the Time-trail stage in Tour de Berlin and 11th overall. We finally decide to sign him when he was 2nd on two mountain stages in Ronde d' Isard and won overall. With a couple of top 10's in hills, time-trails and mountains there is no doubt that this is an talented cyclist. He is also 2nd in the U23 World Ranking. Remember the name Marian Aschenschwandtner( I wouldn't signed this guy, it takes an hour to spell his name) he will definitely become a future star.

The hardest sprint stage ever!
Stage 5 of Tour de California today. On the way to Paso Robles we will tackle some hills and in the end of the stage there is two big hills, the first of them is really steep. No easy day in other words.
The start at Seaside was beutiful and I was just riding and looking out over the sea.
A breakaway with my team mate Albrt Schier got an gap.
Team Garmin was chasing them down.
We caught them in the 2nd last hill and Kiserlovski who is leading the mountain classification won the mountain sprint.
We knew that the best sprinters had dropped over the two last hills so Fuglsang could have a great chance for an stage win today. However wasn't as fast as Velits and Gianni in the sprint and became 4th. I had no problems with the hiulls today and finished 17th.

Classic stage that is ridden every year at California. I know this stage but I wasn't sure if I were going to perform well as my shape isn't the best after all.

Bad day at Mount Badly
2nd last stage today. I had big hopings on todays stage and thougt that I might could take an stage win.
However everthing failed. Me the team and the screens. I wasn't in shape and only finishe 21th. The team failed, we couldn't catch the breakaway of 8 riders that held off to the finish. Fugsang lost a lot of time today as he finshed 26th 3'14 down Tom Danielsson who won the stage. And I can't find any screens. This was one of my big goals with this season and it ends up like this... The only positive I can find is that I kept the White jersey and Kiserlovski kept the Mountain jersey.

Last day in California
Today is the last day in California. The last stage is an flat stage with no big hills that ends up in Thousands Oaks. A break with 8 riders gained a big gap and HTC and Garmin chased for Farrar and Haussler.
With 20 kms to go the break lead with 2'20 and GArmin took over the chase by themselves.
I seems like it was to late and instead Mortensen wins the stage or...? Nicholas Walker, Team Type 1, comes fast from behind!
However it wasn't fast enough. Martin Mortensen wins and Walker is 2nd. Farrar wins the bunch sprint ahead of Bole and Haussler.
I finish 40th and lost no time on the bunch or the break so the Youth's is mine!

I am veri disapointed over my Tour of California. Apart from the white jersey it has all been a big failure. Next race for me is Dauphine Libere. Hopefully in better shape I will fighting in the top of mountains like L'Alpe d'Huez, Glandon and Chamrousse.

American Time-Trail Championships
My goal was to finish in the top 3 but I knew that I had a small chance for victory. My biggest threats were Taylor Phinney and Dave Zabriskie.
The time-trail was made by 4 laps on a lopp in Seattle. I caught my team mate Talansky who had started earlier. When I heard Talansky had taken the lead I knew I had a great day!
When I finished I took the lead ahead of LAwson Craddock. Van Gaerderen and Zabriskie finished behind me. With only Taylor Phinney left on the course I was in the lead.
Phinney was to strong today. He rode 19 seconds faster than me. However I am proud over my 2nd place!
Results:
Spoiler 1 Taylor Phinney Team Type 1 47'32

American Road Race Championships
The course is hilly so my only chance was to go in the breakaway.
And so I did but I never got any huge gap. Instead I rode solo half of the race. My biggest gap was around 2 minutes and the bunch caught me halfway trough the race.
Instead Rodriguez attacked and he had big gap. He wasn't caught until it was 5 kms left...
In the last hill I dropped the first group. Behind me it was a bunch with plenty of riders.
When Rodriguez was caught van Garderen attacked!
BMC chased him down and then Matthew Busche from Team Type 1 won the race. Talansky was in this group and finished 12th.
I finished 19th. The big bunch was 10 seconds behind me.
Results:
Spoiler 1 Matthew Busche Team Type 1 5h45'01

When you take a closer look you see that I will have a hard fight against SaxoBank. Moreno, Dan Martin and Uran could also be big threats in the GC.
First stage was an 6km long prologue/climb in Evian-les-Baines
I started early today. Thats always nice because when I finished I took the lead.
My shape seems good. When around 100 riders had started I was still in the lead.
Then the favourites started. Contador took the lead but was soon beaten by his own team mate; Thomas Dekker
Kiserlovski did an impressive ride and managed 4th.
Stage:
Spoiler 1 Thomas Dekker Saxo Bank SunGard 10'12
2 Alberto Contador Saxo Bank SunGard + 7
3 Frantisek Rabon HTC - Highroad + 11
4 Robert Kiserlovski H&M Racing Team + 13
5 Rigoberto Urán Leopard Trek + 14

7 Ronald Gale H&M Racing Team s.t.
8 Tony Martin HTC - Highroad s.t.
9 Daniel Martin Team Garmin + 18
10 Markus Fothen Saxo Bank SunGard + 19

Dauphine Libere: Stage 2
A little breakawy went away on this hilly stage. My plan was to stay with the peleton today and don't lose any time.
The big favourite to win this stage was Peter Sagan. When he attacked in the middle of the stage SaxoBank started to pace hard to catch him.
Already on the first of the two last hills Sagan, and the first breakaway was caught and the other favourites started to attack. One of them was Thomas Dekker.
SaxoBank's pace to catch Sagan and Dekker's attack made me tired and when the bunch were divided into two pices I dropped the front.
If SaxoBank dominated yesterday's stage then Lampre dominated this stage. Manuele Mori won ahead of Rohregger and his team mates Gianni and Grega Bole.
I finished 117th and lost 3'24 minutes on Mori and Dekker in the front.
No exported results as the game crashed after the podiums.

Have reached TDF, the game crashes at Road Geometries. I tried to lowering my graphichs but it didn't helped so I uninstalled the game. Anyway I will take a pause in this story, maybe forever, as I am very tired on this savegame. I would also like to challange myself with an "worser" team than this so I will start a new story
