You mean Bretagne-Schuller? in the Tour? Oh, that's right, they deserve it so much. There's no way ASO could ignore them, right?! I'd be very, very surprised if a 5th wild card team wouldn't be Geox, but maybe that's just me. |

just don't get me wrong I am with you. For me they made hugh mistake to keep Geox out of the tour. This is not the way to took back best GT title from Giro. Giro as all chanches to be the best GT again. |

Well there's a bright side to it at least. The Tour hasn't really been that exciting for some years now so with Menchov aiming for other races could be a whole lot more interesting than if he aimed for the Tour. But you'd never know, I certainly do wish the Tour to be more interesting and Menchov could've definitely been a deciding factor. But since the Tour already decided their 4 wild cards I doubt they would rethink it and try to fit in 23 teams. |

Giro will be the best GT again.
It's all about the way it is ridden. The controlled manner of the Tour won't change overnight, but Geox would definitely have helped animate the mountain stages a bit more. I'll miss attackers like Duarte, Valls & Sastre. |

I also find it interesting that Schleck apparently has finished 3rd in the Tour de France and 1st in the Tour of Luxembourg, plus LBL is no longer worthy of credit. He's obviously been doing his homework. And by the way, I'm not defending Schleck or his parlmarès, not at all. |

Oh boy, many are going to be happy
Personally I liked Ricco's cycling style...not his personality, and what he says about living a normal life is easier, I agree with that.
Hope he finds peace with his family and a basic job.

Remember Cancellara's motor bike ?
According to L'Equipe, it's not a motor, but something else. A special oil that reduces the mechanical efforts and improves the mechanical output of the bike big time. It costs around 1 100 € (per bike). Andy Schleck used it during last year's TDF mountain stages too. There's a time gain of around 2,5 seconds per km (at what speed ?), and it's legal, with a pattern, etc.
FYI, as I've already written it a couple of times before, there are basically three strengths applying to a riding cyclist :
- Air resistance, it increases to the square of the riding speed (if you ride twice faster, air resistance is four time more important)
- Gravity, it's zero on the flat, but at lower speeds it's the main strength you've to fight against
- Mechanical output. It's the bike against the road, it's how your strength applies on the crankset, how the crankset and the whole transmission make your rear wheel turn. It's proportionnal to the speed. It's apparently where Cancellara has a trick. |

For what I'm reading, it sound more like an special transmission rather than an oil, but my French sucks, so I can be wrong. The guy claims that this mechanism makes friction decrease by 95%. It smells like bullshit. |

Oh, re-reading it, it seems that I somehow missed the paragraph where they talk about that oil. Still seems bullshit, though. |
