Vettel does it again, with ease. Nice to see Heidfeld on podium once again.

Think F1 is boring when Vettel is so much better than the others.
Also sucks that the rain didnt come, then it could have been a fun race. |

Actually it wasn`t that easy for him this time. The other cars, especially McClaren were much closer this time than in Australia.
So hopefully the other cars like McClaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, Renault etc. can improve even more to have more exciting races.

It wasn't that easy, but still he won with comfortable gap to second Button. McLaren was never going to challenge him imo in this race.

Funny how Webber's car got most problems at RBR once again. Reminds me of Vettel/Bourdais at Toro Rosso 2008, the "home" driver gets his car prepared much better (to say that politely).
Same at Ferrari, Massa was slowing Alonso a little during the first stint, he conveniently got a wheel fixing problem in the pits and Alonso came out in front of him...
French commentators are really dumb, calling Heidfeld Vettel, saying Heidfeld got a severe warning for finishing 12th or something in Australia (the whole side of his car had been crushed early in the race, although that wasn't shown much on telly). Then they expected Alonso to finish the race on option tires right before he stopped to pick the prime ones (which is mandatory, unless he uses rain tires).
Idiots. Someday I'll use the "mute" key. :x

Makes no sense... |

F1 and cycling isnt really the same.
Who says it have to be the strongest that wins? Could also be the smartest, like last sunday |

Anyone who reckons that race was boring is not a fan of Formula 1, and only cares about who wins the race.
Sure, there wasnt any rain, but it was still a very interesting race. Vettel got his gap largely when Heidfeld was in 2nd - but by no means did he run away with it.
Button, Heidfeld and Webber all did great drives for 2nd, 3rd and 4th - the way Button pulled away from Hamilton so easily on the same tyres at the end, Heidfeld's start and then the fact that despite seeming to fall back, he was still there at the end, and Webber mastering a 4-stop strategy to get 4th despite no Kers and a hopeless first lap.
Plenty of overtakes too, not all DRS related, and Petrov is evidently taking flying lessons.

I still turned off the TV after lap 16 despite its apparent non-boredom.

Yeah I found Kobayashi's passing skills to be very exciting, and of course the other drivers he was battling with.

tough break for webber though Kers doesn't always help actually, though of course it does on tracks like Sepang. It's an extra weight when you have it on, so it leaves you less room for the balancing weight (how do you call that in English).
Then again FIA more or less fixed it by imposing the weight on the front and on the rear of the car. Second thing is that it loads when you break, so the car balance is a bit reckless when you have it on. It might make you lose some time on a long term. Depending from the tracks, it could even make you lose more time than what it makes you gain through the use of the KERS.
Last aspect is that investing in KERS development is not investing in something else (Captain Obvious to the rescue), which might be of some importance when budgets are limited.
As for me, DRS + a KERS system like they use (or will use) in endurance would be better. It works up to a certain amount of energy when you're at full throttle, and it doesn't answer to a driving wheel order, it just works automatically (and has to work all race long).
Something else : last gossip is Perez to Ferrari (in Massa's seat) in 2012. Not too sure what to think of that... |

In English, you'd probably just say it's an extra weight to account for overall car balance, or overall car weight distribution

If they cant get Vettel or Kubica (be it contract or injury) then it makes sense that they take someone from the young drivers programme - and particularly since Perez will have had a season's racing under his belt by then

It depends on what Calos Slim wants to do. If he decides he's turning Sauber into Team Mexico, Pérez isn't going anywhere and Gutierrez will soon be joining him.

But yes, even though I said I wouldn't watch it any more (like pro cycling), every year I do it again. |

Yeah, after the new Peugeot 908 took off with Minassian on board at the Paul Ricard and successfully (well, "crashfully" ) landed on the nearby airport (that is true), Renault are apparently trying to copy their rivals by working on a single seater flying car with Petrov on board.
After all, since Poutine tried a Renault F1 once, why couldn't Petrov fly a plane ?
