good job Tenorio, back in the lead, now for the big stage, try and hold on.
If I were you I'd actually cheer for Madrazo (after all he is your rider too). So Tenorio could come back next year and destroy everyone else with 83 mo

unfortunately he only hits 81, Next year Madrazo will have 84 though.
It doesn't really matter, although should Tenorio not win this year, I would want Phinney to be invited back to make sure we had a race on our hands

I have no idea why I thought Tenorio will be 83 next year...
And I think it's better not to have former maxed out winners present in Avenir, so every young gun can get a chance to win it

Lets hope Mercedes can pull a podium out of the hat, and Brandt can climb a bit.

Schreurs can't climb, so no, I didn't expect him to be 3rd. |

Well Schreurs is 68 Mountain 74 Hill - and much of his gains have been in the hills. In terms of rivals Danacik is 70/70, Eastman and Guldhammer are 72 Mountain, while Costagli is 73 Mountain but more of a pure climber, a weakness GC wise.
So Schreurs would not be expected to be 3rd, but its not like he is useless

That was pretty perfect, now to take on Phinney in the U23WC, Madrazo and Tenorio together should be able to beat him.

Oh well, as the race progressed there was really no other outcome. Like I said Madrazo should've had another 30 seconds on the TT, then it could've been interesting with Madrazo in the lead on the final stage.
Overall I'm quite pleased. Madrazo made the race interesting until that very last stage, also taking the mountains jersey and 2nd in the pointscompetition. Bernaudeau was quite poor in the TT according to my expectations but beside of that it has been a very exciting race with 2 stagewins and a bunch of other good results - Lets hope we can carry this onto the final races of the PT.

I doubt that. Phinney will be able to stay with both of them and then take them on in the sprint. Phinney is just the best rider in the DB I reckon...

Well Tenerio took the win, he will be a name to watch out for next year in the Vuelta (if Santander are there of course). Ryan Eastman yikes that guy is great young prospect too, similar with Guldhammer.
Casey Munro manages to sneak up the leaderboard to 20th on GC with a good effort on the last day - not stand out enough for me to be interested in signing him next year but a reasonable effort nonetheless.
Great race to see even if things were a bit predictable at the end. I enjoyed that last stage report ... mind games
U23 worlds you would certainly have to imagine it is Spain (Tenerio, Madrazo) vs USA (Phinney, Summerhill, Eastman) with riders like Schreurs, Dowsett and Zaini as outsiders.

I might be having a wrong db but in mine Ryan Eastman will only be 77 MO, 71 HI and 73 TT. I reckon he will be a good helper, but nothing more.
While Guldhammer will be MUCH stronger. 75 MO and 81 HI, if you train him that way, or 80 MO, 76 HI and 71 TT...

Good ride to get in the Top 10 for a non-climber like Summerhill. |

Aha, but usually I end up having an assload of cash left over after transfers, which I will spend on somthing.

True but you need more than shitload to make him a quality rider imo... From 77 to 81 MO is worth what? 3-4mio? And then he's still a rather crappy hilly and TT rider
With 10 mio he could become a good rider, but there would still be better riders around. By far...

SotD, dont forget that Mercedes are CT, and as things stand, may still be CT next year. It takes less training to become a contender in CT stage races than PT stage races - and if it works, the money is then there for Eastman to be further trained.
And at the very least, Eastman will be favourite for Avenir 2012!
