the ASO "partnership" is more of a publicity thing.
ASO handles marketing of the race in europe etc.
I would say it is more involved than that....
Beginning with the upcoming 2010 Amgen Tour of California, which will be held May 16-23, ASO will assume responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the race’s television production. ASO will bring the award-winning Tour de France television production team to California, including Jean-Maurice Ooghe, who has directed the television broadcast for many Tour de France races. As part of the enhancements in 2010, the entire Amgen Tour of California will be shot and distributed in high definition, showcasing the picturesque landscape of California to a global audience, including Eurosport in Europe and the Versus network in the United States.
In addition to production of the broadcast, ASO will continue to assist AEG with the international distribution of the Amgen Tour of California television and digital media rights. ASO will develop, produce and distribute a portfolio of programming formats, including a daily highlights and recap package. In 2009, the race was distributed to more than 200 countries and territories and was seen live in more than 90 countries on some of the main cycling channels worldwide, including Eurosport in Europe, Versus in the United States, J Sports in Japan, SBS in Australia, Dubai Sports Channel in the Middle East and HiTV in Africa. |

Colo has been given a 1 year suspension after being a positive test for .... tadaaa, clenbuterol. The amount found was four times larger than in Contador's sample, though.
Colo's explanation was the same as Contador's, and CONI decided to believe Colo.
Reason? The test was taken during the Vuelta a Mexico, and in Mexico, 18 % of the meat has clenbuterol in it. |

Oh, too bad that the chance to have a clenbuterol contaminated meat on your plate is below 1% in the EU. |

Gesink won't ride Lombardia. His father was heavily injured in a crash in the Bart Brentjens MTB Challenge and is hospitalized in Maastricht.
Gesink decided to return to the Netherlands immediately. |

Bjarne Rijs said that he has a plan b if Contador gets banned. But he cannot talk about it before a decision.
Hope he won`t give a comeback |

Amore & Vita have plans of changing their license to a norwegian license, says former cyclist Njål Engløk. They will probably sign some norwegian talents. |

1. Xacobeo-Galicia are examinded some doping cases. Team doc Juan Manuel RodrÃguez Bastida was fired last year when they hired Alberto Beltrán (ex Liberty Seguros doc). After being involbed in a Columbian doping case they also fired him.
In April 2010 Bastida charged Xacobeo for some paychecks and blames the team manager to not understanding cycling without doping.
2. Geert Omloop crashed today in his absolutely last professional race.
He ripped his renal and is on the intensive care unit.
They don`t know if it must be operated before transporting him to another hospital.
So get well soon!

I can barely be bothered to post this, but anyway: TV 2, Danish TV broadcaster, has a huge headline saying that Michael Rasmussen was doped.
It's based on documents from the Austrian police investigation, so it's not really new.
They did have a new interview with Kohl, though. He confirms that Matschiner told him that Michael Rasmussen was involved.
Can't really be bothered to go into depth with it. |

In January we will now as Matschiner will publish about his "costumers"

I didn't see it. Was there anything new or are TV2 just really slow to react? I mean it is hardly news that MR has been mentioned in the case. He was also cleared as far as I know.

The riders will protest at the start of the Giro di Lomardia against Ettore Torri because he said that everyone is doping in cycling. Morons, I see none of you protesting to get the 2010 TdF to be given to its 'rightfully' owner. No one has protested either about Rebellin keeping his 2009 FW. Shut up and ride guys. Shut up and ride. |

It is like they don't realize that they have zero credibility. Protesting does nothing.

Rasmussen was cleared in the question of whether he had 'rented' the blood centrifuge others (which is illegal in Austria).
I wouldn't say that this case is new. TV 2 has got hold of documents from the Matschiner police investigation, and it's the content from those documents that's being reported. We already knew about the content, though.
Also, Kohl flat out says that Rasmussen was involved. I'm pretty sure that he hasn't named him in public before.
Rasmussen was pretty angry when the TV 2 journalist showed up at his door to talk about it. Quite entertaining, really.
Speaking of entertainment, he now threatens to leave 'Dancing with the Stars' ... which ironically is also broadcasted by TV 2 |

Yeah it's a no brainer for the journalists really. With Contadors case still in the mainstream media and the chicken in a high profile tv-show the LPS accusations against MR are bound to get a lot of attention. Nice to see TV2 doing some critical journalism regarding cycling for once.
