Do you mean because he is speaking Spanish or because of what he says?
If first I could translate a bit, It`s on German Eurosport as live ticker. |

Andy Schleck. One-dimensional. Nearly won the Tour.

Pete i have replied you in page 3.
Shiverson wrote:
He is saying that he an 4 more eat meat from Spain day 20 in dinner and day 21 at lunch and the other one of the team who have to do the test was vinokourov and he eat meat from the hotel.
He said that he tested negative all the other days.
He said that the UCI have confirmed him that they believe that was an intoxication with the food and they have to ban him because of the rules.
More or less

He's telling that he ate meat on the rest day. He's blaming the piece of meat for him beeing "food poisoned." He does also say that he was the only one on the team eating the meat, because the other guys thought it looked bad.
Then the usual talk comes.....he is questioning the antidoping system, and he denies everything about it beeing a dopingcase. He tested positive because he was tested 3 hours after he ate this "poisoned" meat.
And he's playing the ball over to UCI, and recommending them to state that this is a mistake from UCI/antidoping system. |

I try to translate as short as possible.
"Also the B-test was positive"
"Also Vinokourov was tested (negative), but Contador had meat"
"The test was from 21.07., the result came on 24.08. and on 26.08. he had a meeting with some doctors of the UCI"
"They see a possibility that it is food contamination"
"On 20.07. he had a meat dinner with José Luis López Cerrón (Vuelta Castilla y León)"
"Also De la Fuente, Nogal, Tiralongo and Navarro had meat but this was prepared in the bus"
"He is open for all question of the reporters"
"He was controlled every day, but had just one positive on exactly this day"
"Also Vinokourov claimed the bad quality of this meal"
"The amount of Clenbuterol was that tiny, that he had no advantage, experts agree"
"Contador ate in the bus like the others (but Vinokourov) and was the only one been tested afterwards, so no comparison with the 3 Spains"
"He was always honest and have never done something wrong, also the German television knew about the bad quality of the food"
"He trust in the UCI but they have to change some norms, a condemnation would be not accetable"

Well, I don't see how it won't. Are sponsors really not going to be bothered by the biggest name in cycling testing positive? Ok, Contador might get away with it and it all boils down to nothing, but at a time when the former biggest name in cycling is involved in a Federal investigation and now this. It's big news. If Mosquera and Rico are also in trouble it seems like things are going in the right direction. We'll see, but I really don't get how it couldn't change it. |

Hmm, would this small dose effect his performance? Or is all this about finally catching him for something.
Anyway, at least the anti-doping guys are clearly doing a good job. To find a little positive result from Contador and ping him for it, Also, giving him the same treatment as other riders is hopefully a good sign that they are getting very good at testing, and we aren't in the dark about any positive results. |
