Thanks guys
But I'm not that sure that the top 10 is already achieved. I mean Martens could finish anywhere between the 8th and the 11th spot

The last stage in Down Under shouldn't bring any major changes to the general classification as the last half of the stage is entirely flat and it will favor a mass sprint. The main news at the start of the stage was that it will probably today
Van Emden and Martens built up a train for Brown, which was in a perfect position for the final sprint, with the only sprinter able to follow the Rabobank wheels being Eisel
The Dutch rider led the pack until the last 2 kilometers. Then it was Martens who took over the lead, which put Brown in a perfect position for a stage win
But at the 1 kilometer it was Eisel who came with a great acceleration at a perfect time to take the lead from the Rabobank riders
Brown had no chance to match the acceleration and even the second place was now in danger with Boonen and Boasson Hagen coming really fast
No one could stop Eisel today and the HTC rider gets his second stage win in this race. Brown in the end finished just fourth, with Boonen second and Boasson Hagen third
Cardoso finished 8th today and it was more than enough to win Santos Tour Down Under 2010.
Martens also won a few spots thanks to 6th today and finished 8th in the general classification a great result to start the season with, while Reus won the King of the Mountains competition.

January Review:
| Aussie Championships • ITT | NC | Richie Porte | | Aussie Championships • Road Race | NC | Stuart O'Grady | | Santos Tour Down Under | UPT | Manuel Cardoso |
CQ Rankings
Thanks to a good performance in Tour Under from Cardoso, Footon are leading the World Rankings after the first month of racing.
With some points achieved by Martens, Brown and Reus, Rabobank are currently 7th, in front of teams such as Quick Step, RadioShack, Sky or Liquigas.
1. | Footon - Servetto | 346 | PT | 2. | Francaise des Jeux | 291 | PT | 3. | Garmin - Tranisitions | 244 | PT | 4. | Team Saxo Bank | 212 | PT | 5. | Team HTC - Columbia | 208 | PT | • | 7. | Rabobank | 184 | PT |
Taking the lead after the second stage and keeping it until the end in the most important race of the month definitely put Manuel Cardoso at the top of the rankings, followed by Geslin and Hesjedal, who were on the podium in Down Under and both got a stage win.
The best Rabobank rider after January is Paul Martens, placed 12th with 90 points after his first race of the season.
1. | Manuel Cardoso | Footon - Servetto | 318 | 2. | Anthony Geslin | Francaise des Jeux | 242 | 3. | Ryder Hesjedal | Garmin - Transitions | 200 | 4. | Tom Boonen | Quick·Step | 174 | 5. | Mirco Lorenzetto | Lampre - Farnese Vini | 146 |

Vuelta a Mallorca
Oscar Freire
Sebastian Langeveld
Paul Martens
Koos Moerenhout
Nick Nuyens
Tom Stamsnijder
Bram Tankink
Denis Van Winden
Stage 1
A flat - hilly criterium opens the race but with small hills on the route and a flat finish it should be a day for the sprinters
Nuyens and Martens tried to build a train for Oscar Freire, but the Spaniard struggled in the end to make it to the top 10 in his first race of the season. Edvald Boasson Hagen won the stage in front of Cardoso and Haussler
Stage 2
Again it should be a day for the sprinters but this time there are some categorized climbs on the route as well
Tankink was in the breakaway of the day and after getting away from his fellow escapes on the last climb of the day, he was caught by the pack with only 5 kilometers left to ride.
Cervelo dominated the sprint, Haussler winning the stage in front of Cardoso and taking the lead of the race, while Hushovd rounded up the stage podium. Freire had again a bad day and this time he even missed the top 10.
Stage 3
The first of the 3 important stages of the race. The last climb of the day has its finish 30 kilometers before the finish line but it's definitely hard enough to make some significant gaps between the riders
Halfway trough the last climb it was clear that the 7 - men breakaway group has a nice chance to make it to the finish. There were almost no moves in the pack on the climb even though a lot of riders were dropped off, including most of the Rabobank team.
Moncoutie was the only rider that attacked from the pack and after joining the escapes at the top of the climb he continued the race with them.
It was a sprint between 8 riders for the stage win and the yellow jersey, with Barbosa, the strongest sprinter in the group taking both, in front of De Greef and Hugo Sabido. The pack came after 57 seconds, with Tankink and Moerenhout being the only Rabobank survivers.
Barbosa winning the most decisive stage
Stage 4
Again a hilly stage but this time the finish is much closer to the top of the last climb
Moerenhout was one of the 9 riders that got away from the pack at the start of the stage but their adventure ended on the last climb of the stage, with only a few kilometers left before the finish.
In the last 2 kilometers, Vinokourov and Popovych got away from the pack and the Astana rider won the sprint for the stage win. But there were no time gaps and that allowed Barbosa to keep the yellow jersey.
Stage 5
The last stage and the last chance to see any big moves from the favorites. If there won't be any moves from the big guns, Barbosa will probably take an unexpected win
With most of the GC hopes ruined, Martens went away at the start of the stage and took part in the day's main breakaway. With more than 2 minutes advantage over the pack on the last climb it was clear that it will be between the escapes for the stage win.
Two kilometers before the summit, Carlstrom attacked from the breakaway group and only Martens was able to follow him. Even though the Finn was stronger on the climb, he had no chance against Martens in the sprint and the German took the stage win.
It was a great day for Martens, who won the stage, the KoM competition and improved with almost 1 minute and a half his position in the GC. There were no moves in the pack during the stage, which allowed Barbosa to take the overall win.
Martens taking Rabobank's first win of the season

Tour Mediterraneen
Lars Boom
Graeme Brown
Robert Gesink
Tom Leezer
Grischa Niermann
Laurens Ten Dam
Jos Van Emden
Pieter Weening
Stage 1
The Rabobank rider tried to build a fast train for Brown, but they had no chance to beat the Francaise des Jeux one. Arashiro took the FDJ wheels and he beat Sulzberger in the final meters in the sprint for the stage win
Stage 2
A group of 11 riders fooled the pack on a rather hilly route and fought for the stage win, beating the pack with more than 1 minute.
Mederel won the sprint and brought an amazing win for Auber 93, taking the lead of the race as well.
Stage 3
This time the pack was more careful and the stage ended in the expected mass sprint. Boom, Van Emden and Leezer built a train for Brown and unlike the first stage, they dominated the sprint.
Brown and Leezer entered the last kilometer of the stage in front but Ravard jumped from their wheels in the final meters to take the stage win from Brown. The Aussie finished second, while Leezer took a strong 4th place.
Boom, Van Emden, Brown and Leezer heading to the finish
Stage 4
Again the escapes had no chance against the pack and with a small climb at the finish an exciting uphill sprint was expected.
Four kilometers before the finish, Laurens Ten Dam attacked. He stayed in front for an while but he was caught right before the final kilometer. Lars Boom took the lead of the pack in the final kilometer but he lost it to Le Mevel and Lopez, the Frenchman taking the win.
Le Mevel taking the stage win and 20 bonus seconds
Stage 5
The queen stage of the race with the finish on Mount Faron, with most of the strong climbers in the pack looking for their first win of the season
Gesink didn't have a great day and with the finish approaching it was clear that he won't be able to fight for the stage win. 2 kilometers before the top, Ten Dam attacked. Just like yesterday he was caught but this time it was inside the last kilometer and only 3 riders managed to join him in front, Soler, Le Mevel and Hivert.
It was a very close finish between those 4 for the stage win but it was Soler who got it by only just in front of Ten Dam. Le Mevel finished third and with strong rides in the last 2 days of the race, he won this year's Tour Mediterraneen.
Robert Gesink finished 9th in the last stage but it wasn't enough for him to grab place in the top 15 at the end of the race.

Vuelta a Andalucia
Lars Boom
Oscar Freire
Juan Manuel Garate
Denis Menchov
Koos Moerenhout
Bauke Mollema
Laurens Ten Dam
Jos Van Emden
Stage 1
The race starts with its queen stage, with a high mountain finish, where Contador should be on his home ground
Vinokourov attacked at the foot of the last climb and nobody was able to follow his wheel. He enjoyed a solo win, with his main chasers, Plaza and Valls, circa one minute behind him.
Denis Menchov finished in a group led by Taaramae, 1 and minute and 22 seconds behind Vinokourov, while Contador led the pack more than 2 minutes behind the winner in what was his first race of the season.
Stage 2
A group of 5 riders, which included Moerenhout, broke away from the pack at the beginning of the stage and with Astana not working too hard in their chase they built an max advantage of more than 6 minutes.
In the last 20 kilometers, Auge attacked from the breakaway group and with no one being able to follow him, he head to the stage win and the leader's jersey. The Frenchman won by 56 seconds in front of the other escapes and by 2 minutes and a half in front of the pack.
Stage 3
Lars Boom attacked on the first climb and no one was able to follow him. The former Dutch Champion went in a solo breakaway and had an advantage of more than 7 minutes over the pack. But it was impossible for him to hold on after riding the entire stage alone and he was caught in the last kilometers of the stage. Duque won the uphill sprint, in front of Rojas and Pedersen.
Stage 4
The short time - trial meant Vinkourov's way back into the leader's jersey as the Astana rider won the stage by 10 seconds in front of Ruben Plaza. Lars Boom and Jos Van Emden had some great times, finishing 6th and 4th respectively, the last one even being faster than Contador.
The Dutch Champion, Jos Van Emden, fighting with the clock
Stage 5
In the last stage, Ten Dam pulled an attack just like the one from Lars Boom in the third stage. The Dutch attacked on the first climb and then rode almost the entire stage by himself building a huge gap between him and the pack.
He was also caught in the last kilometers of the race but only by Pedersen, who attacked from the pack 20 kilometers before the finish. Ten Dam had no chance against Pedersen in the sprint and lost the stage win, but winning almost one minute over the pack were their tickets for the top 10 in the overall rankings.

The race is a great way to open the northern classics season with a lot of cobbled section on the route. The main favorites to take the trophy home this year are Pozzato, Boonen and the former Rabobank rider, Juan Antonio Flecha
The four escapes that got away in the first kilometer of the race had no chance against the pack, led by Quick Step and Lotto, and they were caught with a more than 40 kilometers left before the finish.
Before the last cobbled section of the day there were still a lot of riders left in the front group as the favorites didn't test each other on the other obstacles of the race. Four Rabobank riders were still there: Rick Flens, Lars Boom, Nick Nuyens and Sebastian Langeveld.
On the last cobbles of the race Hoste attacked from the pack and only 5 riders were able to follow him: Boonen, Vansummeren, Flecha, Nuyens and Leukemans.
But even though they got a nice advantage over the others they didn't work together in the last kilometers of the race, which was the perfect time for the pack, where Columbia's Cavendish and Eisel and Cervelo's Hushovd and Haussler were the definitely the big favorites in a sprint, to gain some time back.
And with 5 kilometers to go they began catching the attackers. The first one to go was Nuyens. Inside the last kilometer Hoste was also caught, while the others managed to stay in front by only just, with Boonen giving them no chance at the victory in the sprint.
Tom Boonen celebrating his win
Nick Nuyens was the strongest Rabobank rider and he finished 13th, while Boom took the 17th spot. Flens and Langeveld finished in the seconds group, almost 3 minutes behind Boonen.
