No they shouldnt. Cavendish did nothing wrong, so there is absolutely 0 reason to disqualify Cavendish.
+1. Dean was trying to cut off Renshaw. And he protected his place. Then, yes, Renshaw cut off Farrar. Nowhere in this sequence did Cavendish do anything wrong.
So any helper can cut off opposing riders then from now on? Cool. |

Renshaw looked at Farrar and then moved to block him. What an ass.

Cavendish blameless.
However... Renshaw does deserve a punishment.
I don't know, did he actually try to headbutt him? (I'm using text coverage, not TV.)
3x he butted his helmet into Julian Dean's. |

try? Oh no, he suceeded, more than once. And then blocked Farrar

I guess nobody could protest if Renshaw was thrown out of the race. They porbably got some rule about very unsportsmanship riding they could use. Cavendishs victory will be hard to take back.
Kicking him off the race? Seriously? It'll be a relegation and a hefty fine at most.

Farrar is upset with Renshaw because he almost crashed the whole field, with his move.

Yes. I hope he can keep it.
Btw: What was Saxo doing. they only managed to drop 20 riders with that move and then they all got dropped themselves.

Ineed - that was worse than the headbutts imo, something which is visual, but not so bad - his hands did remain on the handlebars afterall.
Last year Cavendish got DQed for looking behind and supposedly blocking Hushovd - this year Renshaw looked behind and definately moved over infront of Farrar - so you'd imagine a DQ is heading Renshaws way

Tom Steels was pulled out after throwing a waterbottle at Moncassin in the sprint. I think this was worse actually. |

They were trying to see if any GC contenders would get caught out I imagine. |

Again, it's a TEAM sport.
They should set an example to contain this dangerous behaviour in the sprint. imho |

If Evans wasn't thrown out of the Giro for punching other riders, or Barredo and Rui Costa for their little hit-me-with-a-bike-wheel quarrel, then I see absolutely no reason why Renshaw should be out either.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

May be wearing Cav tinted spectacles, but I think both Renshaw and Dean should be dq'd from the stage,Dean difinately moved into Renshaw IMHO. |

I'm quite glad no one lives in this World going under your honest opinion.

Barredo belted Rui Costa over the head with a wheel and didn't get chucked out of the race!
EDIT : din't see Deda's post!

Yeah most likely. It seems too lenient as the reward is much higher than the risk. He should be fined as well, but when they didn't throw out Barredo, they won't throw out Renshaw.
Edit: This point has been made enough I guess.
