Col du Noyer starts at 48km to go. 15km long, not steep until the end though.
Shouldn't be a problem for most riders.

I think the descent is what is worrying everyone. |

Go Rolland!
The only reason I knew Rolland existed before this is that in my PCM08 game (with daily db), he's a super talent that almost beat Schleck in TdF 2011.
He did beat Contador for second place, which is impressive in itself.
Interesting. In my PCM08 game it was Maxime Bouet who became a super talent and won the 2010 Tour de France. Honestly, that was the most amazing ride I've ever seen on PCM. After losing time in a crash in an early stage he still needed to beat Contador by over 2 minutes in the final time trial and beat him by 3 minutes
I'd like to see Rolland win here though. |

Is the descent very technical or what? I don't remember it being Noyer being used before. |

not sure how technical it is, but gradient wise it's tough. The easy side is being climbed.
Meanwhile the final uncategorised climb is where this stage will see its action.

It was where Beloki crashed in '03. They went up a different climb, but snaked down onto it's descent, and Beloki hit the deck as we all know.
I know that would scare me. |

Beloki Crashed on the decent from Cote de la Rochette. It's that for some reason not categorised climb in the end, that year they rode it from another side though. |

They snaked over and descended the Noyer. And if I'm wrong, so is the official Tour site:
On this stage, Le Tour will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of France annexing Savoy. The Côte de Laffrey climb, on leaving Vizille, is very difficult. The Col du Noyer pass is also very complicated. Yet, this does not mean it is typical high-altitude racing. The descent is very winding: let’s not forget how badly Joseba Beloki fell in 2003, when he wanted to avoid Vinokourov gaining too much time on him. To avoid the Spaniard, Lance Armstrong was obliged to take a short-cut through a field. |

With superb bike-handling skills, Armstrong had the ability to entertain and enthral; dodging Joseba Beloki on the descent of the Cote de La Rochette in 2003 just one of many examples of the American's ingenuity in the saddle.

Whatever the specific names of the climbs are - the descent used today is the descent where Beloki crashed

Yep, but it's the last descent not this. This descent looks dangerous too, though. |

Beloki fell about 4-3 km from the finish.
Here is the profile of the stage in 2003
That year they came into to Gap from Embrun, which is east-southeast of Gap, while this year they come from the north. |

So who does everyone like for the win today.
I like Rolland. Bouet looks questionable, and I have to put my money on a Frenchie. |

Rolland too. Wouldn't mind Bouet either, but he is cooked.
Edit: WTF is doing Moreau.
