Devolder got a 20s penalty
Mollema got a 10s penalty
They were 9th (Mollema) and 12th (Devolder) in the GC but now dropped down because of these penalties. |

No, even Rabobank hasn't been informed, Mollema has no clue why, neither does Rabo DS
Strange Suisse... trying to punish possible contenders for Fabian's top 10 already? |

Mollema not really happy
Mollema is furious
Echt belachelijk!
Translation
"I have gotten a 10 second penalty so instead of 9th I'm 23rd. At first I had no clue why. But when I asked the jury they told me I held a bidon too long.
That is absolute nonsense! At the top of the long climb I had to get some clothes from the car, I also took 1 bidon but really not for long. If they give me a time penalty for that they should give a time penalty for almost everybody who gets a bidon from the car. Also they should have sent a top sprinter home who hung from a car for a really long time!
Really utter bullshit!" |

You've just gotta roll with it. You hear stories of commisaires being twats from amateur level all the way to the top, it happens. For whatever reason, it happens.
At least he didn't get penalised on the last day, just as he was about to win the overall by 6 seconds, then lose by 4. That's happened in a race I know of, all because the rider chucked his bottle away to a helper in the final mile.

It was 7kms so, the exhaustion probably appeared yesterday
Honestly, he deserves some rest as he was riding a lot of races since January and he is still a neo-pro, he has many Swiss Tours ahead
Go Roman!

Frank Schleck gets away with 1 km to go and wins. Uran 2nd, Bauke 3rd. Mollema fanboys in 3...2...1 |

Tony Martin is the new yellow jersey as he finished in the front group while Cance was gapped off. |
