Since Pellizotti won't be competing I'm going for Vino to win and Sastre for the Points Jersey.
Don't wanna argue, this bet is just your opinion, but just tell how will Vinokourov be able to win knowing that everything will be decided into third week, knowing he will compete against Sastre, and finally knowing he hasn't raced a full GT since 2007 (he raced only half of the Vuelta last year) ? |

Because he's doped to the eyeballs.

And knowing he hasn't been good in difficult mountain since his comeback, he has his old tt and hills form but in mountains he is weak.

It's simply me making random guesses again, although I do come out with some stupid things sometimes. |

Ok then:
Vinokourov's physiological capabilities are far above any other normal human. He is in the top 1% of the world in qualities of VO2 max, lactate threshold, lacatate tolerance, psychological determination, amongst a whole shaft of other physiological variables.
Add onto that the fact he's doped, means he can produce performances that are at the top of the Peloton, enabling him to come back to the World Class Peloton and produce results that most riders try their entire career to get.
Without dope, he'd be the same level as many other riders who don't dope. For example, Voeckler (as my guess would be).
Do I need to start referencing my replies?

6.Daniel Moreno
7.Vladimir Karpets

It's not just that. Even assuming that everyone dopes, everyone isn't in the same sauce. Anyway, my top 10:
1º Carlos Sastre
2º Cadel Evans
3º Ivan Basso
4º Vincenzo Nibali
5º Dani Moreno
6º Christian Vande Velde
7º Marzio Bruseghin
8º Stefano Garzelli
9º Rigoberto Uran
10º Francesco Masciarelli
Now I remember I made it pre-Karpets, so the Russian will be 11th only to not piss me off. |

Daniel Moreno in the top six! That's a serious bet. He hasn't shown anything yet at lotto, although at caisse he was impecable. A little strange I should say... or maybe not (another thomas dekker maybe).
PS: It says a russian is suspected too. Maybe they won't let Menchov compete, and that will simplify things for Cadel. No Pelizotti too. Sastre and Basso remain the main contenders i think. |

i think that the only way for Evans to win will be to start "wheelsucking" again, and hope to suck the right one. he just doesn't have the team power to win the grand tour ihmo.
although it would be great to see the world champion actually win such a big race.

Those who dont have Vino on the top 10 list are retarded, he won Terrentino and Liege. And got a killer atitude, oh, for those who say he dope i dont give a shit, i have been following cycling for almost 10 years, it should be clear that every body dopes.
Venga Vino

I think the only way for Evans to win a grand tour would be to attack, as usual.
And I expect to see him attack here, when he can, as usual.

That killer attitude is why has only won one grand tour in his carreer. He's either off the front attacking, or off the back because he has attacked too much. |

Freire's caught the same respiratory problems Mooerenhout has. He's doubtful for the Giro

Damn. What is it with Rabobank. It seems like everytime, during important races a couple of riders are ill or injured. ´
Edit: Moerenhout is definitely out of the Giro and will be replaced by Stamsnijder. If Freire won't be able to ride, he will be replaced by Kruijswijk.

Because this thread has gone a bit prediction crazy, here's my top 10:
1. Sastre
2. Evans
3. Basso
4. Pozzovivo
5. Vinokourov
6. Nibali
7. Tiralongo
8. Moreno
9. Karpets
10. Uran
I feel Garzelli should be in there, but let's say he just misses out on the top 10 like Masciarelli |

Since we're doing stupidly detailed predictions:
Stamsnijder will be 154th
