Vuelta a Andalucia Stage 4 Report

i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Profile-3.jpg

Considered as a hilly stage the favorites were Valverde, Lovkvist and Devolder coming in, but with a flat finish anything could happen so we are going to ride it out and counter any attacks from Valverde or Devolder with Lovkvist and hope for a stage win and a bump up in the GC.

As we came to the base of the final climb of the day there was still a breakaway of 10 riders up front with a 2 minute gap. And the peleton was down to 60 some strong climbers after a face include the three favorites.
It was just a matter of time before Devolder made the first move 2km out from the top of the climb, as aspected Valverde counter and we sent Lovkvist with as well.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/DevolderAttack1.jpg

Over top Valverde showed his strong climbing ability by passing-by both Devolder and Lovkvist and the three were now a minute behind the break.

i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/CaughtBreakaway.jpg
And caught them on the way down, were Valverde toke control of the group and Lovkvist sat and waited for another attack while regaining energy, and Devolder watch from afar in the back of the group.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Downhill.jpg

Lovkvist was on form for the day and regained his energy at an amazing pace and with the group getting slower and slower he knew Valverde was struggling to control the pace. And Lovkvist made his move.

He was followed by a few of the breakaway riders but they fell off the pace and of course Valverde and Devolder countered, and it was just the three favorites at the front.

Lovkvist hooked on to the back wheel of Valverde and Devolder was having problems just keeping up. And heading into the sprint point at looked like a what might be a preview of the finish as Valverde and Lovkvist battled it out as both were also close together in the sprint point rankings and it was clear that the winner of the stage would get that jersey.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/SprintPoint.jpg
Lovkvist blew Valverde out of the water on the sprint and Devolder didn't even try. Was Devolder and Valverde saving energy for the finish? Only time could tell.

With 10km to go it they looked like they did before the sprint, and it was clear that the peleton had no chance of bring them back, it was a three man race.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/10kmtogo.jpg
And the same at 5km to go, but Devolder was sneaking up on the two leaders getting ready for the sprint.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/5kmtogo-1.jpg
And with 1km to go the sprint was on between ... Valverde and Lovkvist.
Devolder just didn't have the enegy or form to keep up.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/1kmtogo-1.jpg
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Finish1-2.jpg
Either did Valverde, Lokvist was steaming towards the finish and nothing could stop him.

i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Finish3-1.jpg
Lovkvist brings home his second win, but also his strong sprint made a gap of 14 seconds back to Valverde and Devolder. Moving him into 3rd in the GC.

Interview - Thomas Lovkvist

Q: You looked very strong out there today, great win. What can we expect for the stage 5 now that you are in 3rd in the GC?
A: Stage 5 is going to be me going for it all, I showed you that I can race with the best, and beat them. I'm going to go for first but I have to now lose what I have now in 3rd.

Vuelta a Andalucia Stage 5 Report

i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Profile-4.jpg
With Lovkvist in 3rd in the GC the final climb should shake out the standings between 1st - Devolder, 2nd - Valverde, and 3rd - Lovkvist, and maybe launch some outsiders into the top 3 as well.

Breaks seemed to be happening on every hill, but when the peleton reached the final climb there were two seperate groups out front, with all three favorites in the peleton. And the first to make the move was again Devolder who did the same in stage 4.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/DevolderAttack.jpg
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/DevolderAttack2.jpg
Devolder quickly caught the first group and was only 20 seconds behind the front group, that contained Radioshack's Zubeldia. Since we still had Peterson in the peleton we told the young rider to try and reel back Devolder a little bit to give Lovkvist a crack at the win.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Climb1.jpg
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/ValverdeAttack.jpg
Right as Peterson toke control Valverde made his move.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/ValverdeAttack2.jpg
Peterson was doing a great job at the front, as his fast pace drain out Lovkvist energy, so our hoped was set in Peterson hands.
Over the top Valverde showed his top climbing form passing Devolder and strong willed Zubeldia who was sticking to Devolder's wheel while the other breakaway riders dropped off back into the every shrinking peleton.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/TopofClimb1.jpg
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/TopofClimb2.jpg
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Downhill-1.jpg
On the downhill Valverde was aiming for the win only needing 8 seconds over Devolder, and Lovkvist was very slowly regaining energy as Peterson was still surging ahead.
While heading down a tricky bend their was an attack within the peleton that Peterson was controling and with some energy Lovkvist countered, in hopes of getting closer to Zubeldia who right now on the road had taken over his 3rd in GC by just 25 seconds, pushing him into 4th.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/LovkvistGroup.jpg
When Lovkvist crossed under the 5km to go banner he could see Zubeldia and Devolder in his sights, but Valverde was clear for a solo win.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/DevolderGroup.jpg
Valverde takes the solo win, and the overall GC.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/Finish.jpg
2nd - Zubeldia, 3rd - Devolder
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/FinishGroup2.jpg
Lovkvist comes in 7th after a poor sprint with the other three riders.
i898.photobucket.com/albums/ac189/Mresuperstar/Vuelta%20a%20Andalucia/FinishGroup3.jpg
And Peterson drove home the small peleton for a 11th place finish, great ride for him.

Interview - Thomas Lovkvist

Q: You let 3rd slip away, what are your thoughts on todays events?
A: Coming in I just wanted a top 10, so 4th and a win is way more then I expected, and today getting 7th was all because of my man Peterson, this guy gave his life for me, I love how the team is shaping up, we all got each other backs, even though we arn't the best team in the CT we got the heart to put up the results in any race, with the big boys or our rivals battling it out for the top two promotion spots.

Note: Full detail February report including Race Recaps, Scouting, Money, Awards and more will be posted tomarrow. Thanks for all the support.

Nice I have a fantasy team story on ppdb and It's lots of fun. Always thinking about wining with your fav riders instead of realistic results

Yep, but I don't have all may favorite riders on the team yet due to the small salary, but that is why I think this story is going to be so fun in the future, but also right now. Because it is set-up to compete now but also has the potential to be a powerhouse cycling team in 3-4 seasons. The only thing holding it back is my management skills, which is average right now due to the break I toke from the game for a good 3-5 months, I just got to get back in the hang of things, which is true for every game that you just get back in to after a long break.

Well usually when I get back into a game i'm still really good like NHL 10 I'm fantastic at that. Maybe one of the best in the world and my record online is 80 wins 1 loss What i didn't hear anything. But this kind of game is different and I understand of course you might have to play single races to get better. I don't think your doing that bad but if you insist. Heres waht I want you to do before every race:

50 Push Ups
30 Sit ups- Curl Ups crunches whatever.
and a lap around the block.
Because this should affect your managerial (if thats a word) skills and improve on them for sureSmile

Dang 80 wins, you got some mad skills. What are you playing on, XBOX360, PS3? I have a PS3. I think I will have to try your advice for the next race and see what happens, haha, not joking.

Bummer but still good we should play some time. I'm usually the rams because they're my favourite team. They are definately picking a QB in the draft now becasue they released Bulger and didn't trade for McNabb.

My Hockey team last year won the championship and this year when I was in Japan my team made it all the way to the finals without me. They said the would have won if I was there but I was living a once in a lifetime experience.

Looking good on the rise.

Scouting -
Our scout has spent the last month seeking out talent in southern France, and we are proud to announce he thinks he was spotted a future great stage racer named Jimmy Lucina.

We have our sights on him heading towards the future but we don't have the money to set up a sponsorship with him, so hopefully are hidden diamond in the rough will go undiscovered by the top pro-tour teams.

Are you a detroit fan?

Sadly yes, Pistons suck this year. Tigers are o.k. but ever since the 2006 world series they have been going downhill. Red Wings are going to cause havoc in the Playoffs - should be fun. Yeah and then the Lions, the only reason to watch them is to get in a goods day laugh, it is just funny watching them lose over and over again and then waste draft picks each year and they never get any better.

Wow the game crashed! Good thing for backups. Almost ever thing was destroyed exept the story and the pcmdaily2010db. But after looking over the damage that it caused everything looks normal to continue but the scouting zones corrupted so our scout will be stuck in southern france for the rest of his life. I guess I will just have to use editors for the scouting or just buy young free agents, but we will cross that bridge when we get there. Just glad I saved the game. And on a small note some flags when missing and are not pink. If anyone knows possible reasons why this happened or solutions, I'm all ears.

Well the Celtics will own the Pistons.
I don't watch baseball.
The Canucks will beat the Wings in the 1st palyoff round
and the Rams are way better than Detroit. well there not but soon will. Sad to hear about the crashes. Is your favourite Michiganian (guess) player in hockey Kesler or Modano?

Pistons arn't making the playoffs by a long shot.
Everyone in Michigan has given up on the Lions like 10 years ago, and everyone watchs college and high school football instead, because their is a lot of football talent in Michigan yet they always seem to be overlooked by the Lions. And I make to say that I disagree about the Red Wings lossing in the first round. And for favorite player from Michigan would have to be Ryan Miller, the U.S.A superstar goalie. But from Detroit I like Henrick Zetterberg.

Ah forgot about him. Keslers my favourite player ever.
Nothing against Zetterberg but I don't like him. Hes good but for some reason I don't like him.
Anyway keep up the story (if possible).
