Team CSC-Orbea would like to express interest in VÃctor Hugo
Orozco if available, but only if we are able to pick-up a few other Colombia climbers on our shortlist during transfers. Hope to keep in touch.
I am sorry I have taken a few days to respond to some of the requests for information about our riders. We would like to take this oppurtunity to respond.
Meiko-Fuji situation
We both know the situation here with Arashiro and Beppu. We have two riders under contract with us and both have made it clear to me that they would very much like to be part of the Meijo Fuji project.
All that remians is for us two to find a way of coming to an agreement that is mutually beneficial. I am positive once the transfer season arrives we shall see a resolution to the matter once way or another.
Interest from Wikipedia and Festina-Seiko
We welcome the contact that two of the goliaths of cycling racing have made with us. We have one rider that we are really concerned about getting that Protour exposure and that is young Adam Semple. We would be delighted if he could find his way riding for a protour team next year.
Approach from team CSC Orbea
Victor Hugo Orozco seems strangely reluctant about riding for CSC Orbea next season. However he has friends in Colombia that have met with your scouts and your attentions have also peaked the interest of our other two Colombian climbers Julian Rodas and Edwin Parra Bustamante.
These two have mentioned their desire to join the Colombian pro tour team but are realistic and would certainly jump at the chance to join a Colombian contengent at CSC Orbea.
Mass rider releases
When the new sponsors came on board they were quite insistent that changes were made and certain members of the old boys club were to stop recieving wages.
We perhaps overestimated the quantity of riders needed for last season, though ironically I think our squad building led to the changes in races allowed being increased this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see the squad numbers to start to swell towards the end of transfer season once more.
Dark clouds hang over Jayco - Red Bull HQ, placards such as 'Sack the board' and 'What a load of bull' are carried by Red Bull fans. Brave team boss Smowz is fronting a brief press conference, outside the front of the building
Smowz Jayco - Red Bull are delighted to announce that we have signed expererienced riders Moinard and Vorganov to the team. These two riders were part of a big talent swap with the likes of Pendleton's Twicer....
Reporter Smowz, you swapped out Red Bull's best rider Konstantin Siutsou, as well as promising youngster Jianhua Ji. Moinard and Vorganov who are they?
Smowz (ignoring) We are also pleased to announce that Frenchmen Cherel has come on board from Pendletons also. We think this guy could grab some good redults for us this season.
Reporter Smowz, you don't wish to talk of Siutsou well what about Arashiro then... you sold out didn't you?
Smowz(ignoring once more) We are also pleased to announce the capture of Kiwi fast man Joseph Cooper. Our sponsers were particularly keen on this signing.
Reporter Smowz are the sponsors behind this mad transfer nonsense...
Smowz (looks haggard) You know anybody wanting to ask questions about Siutsou and Arashiro I will direct to their new teams. The two stars wanted away that much was obvious during contract renewels, both should be more than happy in their new surroundings. Yuki got homesick real quick last year and Konstantin was desperate to sign for a Protour team....
Reporter But Smowz you are cutting the heart and soul out of the team. We hear that Rodas, Augustyn and Parra Busta are on their way too, thats like your whole team.
Smowz (looks angry now).... and the talent will come in to replace, judge me when transfers are over please.
Smowz storms back into the building, some female fans of John-Lee Augustyn are seen in tears
Hordes of Aussie fans are held off by a mass police presence in front of the Jayco - Red Bull HQ, a man in a suit nervously opens the door and stand upright hoping for some silence. The Press eager to hear what the man says come forward framtically with recorders and microphones in hand
Man in suit The board of directors at Jayco Red Bullll.....
He is drowned out by the din of crowd's chanting 'Mossy out, Mossy out'. The man in the suit is presented with a mega-phone by a policeman, he nervous switches the button on at the back. A deafening screeching noise quietens the crowd somewhat, he continues.
Man in suit Following what can only be seen as a horrific couple of days of horse trading, the board of directors at Jayco Red Bullll....
The crowd start chanting again 'Sack the board', 'Sack the board'. the man in the suit realises he better make this brief
Man in suit We have decided however to given the team boss Smowz a resounding VOTE OF CONFIDENCE, to finish what he has started.
Hoots and whails jeer out from the crowd, it is noticed that a giant inflatable Emu is being mock hanged from a nearby tree. The man in the suit fearing he could be next for the noose beats a hasty exit inside the building
The press realising that the Jayco Red Bull HQ's doors were now firmly locked, decided to go hounding their riders. Particular focus was on the new signings, punchaerSimon Gerrans was hunted down on a training rider with Adam Hansen
Press Simon, what do you make of the situation with JayBull?
The press had come up with the shortened name, Adam Hansen grimaces on hearing it
Gerrans There isn't much of a situation mate to tell you about. For me I am delighted to find a team, last year the late season was a wipe out for me with what happened at Petronas
Press But you walk into another team in turmoil, I hear your pay is paltry also.
Gerrans (smiling) I get something quite reasonable, its better than being without a team and besides I get paid more than some.
Hansen We know that team boss Smowz knows what he is doing
The riders ride off up the road they are in the Willunga hill region looking to practice for Januarys Tour Down Under
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile in a bar in Darwin, Northern Australia the press catch up a less than soberGraeme Brown
Press Graeme, trouble seems to follow you around doesn't it?
Brown It you are referrring to you lot, you are like flies around kangaroo dung.
Press Erm. We were referring to your new troubled cycling team JayBull
Brown Troubled?! You know last year those Scandenavians had us out this time of year in the freezing wasteland team building. Knackered us all out I reckon.
Brown Instead you are in this place drinking?
The bar looks at the reporter with stern faces, they were quite happy at the thought of being on telly but now they look rather angrily at the press crew
Brown (chuckling) I reckon the boys in here would disagree. Look mate I am 33 I have just had a horrid year racing for a team that couldn't stop criticising me and seemed to want to fawn over that wannebe superstar Kessiekoff. Now I here they want to go all German, well I say Auf Wiedersen to that, I get a place on a team that finished ABOVE them in the CTour rankings and holds my mate Chrissy Sutts - Yes I am more than happy here. I think the boys here would like you to leave.
Undeterred one intrepid reporter has got himself over to the states and finds Loaned out youngster Adam SempleIn training, still wearing his old Blue and white Red Bull colours
Press Ad, bet your glad you are over here not at home with your team
Semple I heard you lot caused a stir.
Press We hear your wages are still being paid by the team that surely is about to go bust. Wouldn't you prefer to be in Mikey Matthews' shoes and get the hell outta there.
Semple Mikey? No way I am happy to be here and even happier to be contracted with my team boss Smowz. He has done so much for my career and I think he though Mikey would be riding in the big leagues.
Press But he is at the popular Oz Cycling Project
Semple Yeah, feel sorry for Mikey. Not being at Oz Cycling but I think he thoughthe was ready for the Protour. Apparently the Festina team boss didn't think so which is a shame. There again Smowz has done so much for his career riding us last year and getting us to this level.
Press He sold him out.
Semple (scorns) What so he can go and ride in the Protour how exactly is that selling him out. He got a great rider in Blaise Sonnery in return.
Press He's French.
Semple and....
Press We are Australian.
Semple .,.. I rest my case. Get off my back and get back to the 19th century where you belong.
No words have come at all from Smowz, however there has been a twitter he sent to his friend on protour team Santander mb2612
Twitter message: Gracious for the kind words amigo. Impey really is a talent much like your man Ventuso. Holed up here, hoping masses will soon see we have a better future.
