Sprinters teams arn't gonna let Gilbert go I'd say..
They might not have a choice. However, the last 2.5kms are on the Avenue de Grammont: they're completely flat and straight. No turns. That's where they have to catch the attackers if they want a bunch sprint.

Gilbert can't drop the other two, so he doesn't look likely to win this thing

Gilbert has to attack again, if he wants to have any chance

*Standing ovation*
Heh. Bozic blew up and Boonen wasn't counting on it. Gilbert got very lucky.....and I'm glad he did

That wasn't a straight sprint. Bozic (thankfully) screwed Boonen over

Haha, Bozic basically just stopped pedalling and let a gap to Gilbert. Thanks! |

I see that now in the replay. I honestly only found a working stream there for the last 10 seconds and didn't have much idea of what was going on. |

And Sanchez should have won Vuelta
boo hoo
Boonen didn't win and i don't think he would certainly have won. Also he shouldn't have won, Gilbert deserved it for the work he did.

Good final. Nice too see Boonen attacking. He's much better doing that instead of sprinting.
Rabobank pretty dissapointing, having Flecha, Nuyens and Tjallingi all up front, but not there when the attacks go... At least Vacansoleil did a good job as Dutch team, although Bozic should've stopped relaying at 1km imo... (being outsider from a CT team and all I think he should) |

Langeveld was Rabo's best man in the race, but he fell and still finished 27th |

I really was expecting him to be able to follow Boonen & Gilbert

Bostic didn't lose it for Boonen, Boonen lost it for Boonen. If he'd followed Gilbert to the left right away, he would've had a better chance. On the other hand, it's easy to say that after the race... |
