i thought that was a bit weird, but i'm just getting my info off Eurosport until 2pm when i can watch it live on ITV4
they talk about there being a lot of good climbers in the breakaway but if it stays clear Rasmussen has to be the favourite
they obviously have it wrong then |

ok, are you sure Rasmussen has dropped back
128km - Jérôme Pineau (Bouygues), Fabian Wegmann (Gerolsteiner), and Martin Elminger (AG2R) have caught the leaders! The addition of this trio makes this an incredibly interesting escape group, and the lead is up to a full six minutes. Lots of climbers in this bunch, and lots of contenders for the polka-dot jersey, but the favourite Michael Rasmussen could very well dominate on the three approaching climbs as long as the escape bunch can stay away.
from eurosport, or are they just a bit behind, or just plain wrong
eurosport (TV), the tour's site, cyclingnews and a local channel, none are placing Rasmussen there.
plus, I only see one orange sundae there...and that's Flecha
PS: one of my GT guys is in the break!!!! |

yes they obviously have it wrong, can't wait till 2pm, Savo has to be the favourite if the break stays away with that long downhill at the end |

thanks issoisso
i doubt they'll make it anyway though, there'll be tons of attacks on the Colombia
i'm hoping for a Wegelius victory
no i think Oscar Pereiro or Franck Schleck might put in a decisive attack, i'm hoping Valverde won't be able to follow, and the Astana boys are too injured, there may be a group of the outsiders e.g. Evans, Menchov, Rasmussen, Leipheimer etc. (Carlos Sastre has called for the medical car so he may be injured) |

definitely these 4 in no particular order.
choosing a fifth I think is unfair as there are a few at about the same level. different stages suit different riders, so that makes it even more unfair. for instance, Evans has fabulous stamina, so any stage that is hard right from the start will see him right up there with those four...etc.
I'd say Kloden would be nr 5.

wrong continent Addy it's the "Colombiére", be sure to pronounce that properly (i.e.: in a slightly condescending and snob way, just as if you were french)
I'm hoping that Alicia Silverstone will appear naked in my lap in about two seconds.............nope, sorry.

Evans has most of his team setting pace. he might be feeling well.
as for the pic, you know I'm always screwing around...nothing personal

not ever. it's his third Tour, actually.
eigth, then fifth, and now finally a season in which he doesn't decide to ride a gazillion races before the tour. so I'm expecting him to be better this time round

Hmm... Piepoli isn't in the Tour. But... I guess you know - you probably misunderstood the question. Rasmussen should definitely be put in the top 5. We've never seen whether he is stabile enough, but on the other hand his TT kills his GT rhythm, so to speak.
He really wasn't dropped on every stage in 2005. He rode to the top at Courchevel with Lance and Bala - DROPPING Ivan Basso. |

could you rephrase that? I don't get what you mean.

I never said he was dropped on every stage. I said he kept getting dropped. I mean he was dropped a few times.

actually, he was dropped near the end and finished with Mancebo.
but I get what you're saying. but that was the one stage where he almost kept up.

It's a dangerous contest Degano and Leqautre already abandoned because they failed to break the record

uhm...there is no such contest this year, I was kidding. there was last year at the Giro.
Degano is still here, the tour site was wrong, he didn't abandon. they've corrected it now.
Lequatre was trying to grab a feed bag from the feed zone but it got tangled up in his wheel and he crashed heavily
