Here's a jersey design I've done for Low-Key Hillclimbs I've not tested it on the game, so it may well have mapping flaws.
I was pleased to note the higher res designs still work well with the "shirt viewer" after downloading the Unity 3D viewer on my Macbook. The jersey design works fairly well now, despite the lack of distortion compensation in the graphics.

This is improved relative to what I originally posted here. Among other things, the perspective distortion on the back banner seems to help a lot to present the text properly (on the "shirt previewer"). There's a lot of mapping distortion in this region.
Additionally I originally had no side panels. I could resist the call of the side panel no longer. Jerseys have to have side panels.

Here's some simple gridded jersey I made to get a feel for the mapping distortions in the 3D model. I've updated this to include one for the x-axis, one for the y-axis, to allow determination of precise position
On the shirt viewer, I see a lot of distortion in the armpits, around the neck, too a lesser but still significant degree the upper back, and a significant expansion of graphics on the butt.
