CHOLET - PAYS DE LOIRE
Cholet – Cholet – 236.2km
Five riders have been away since the white flag was dropped to officially start the race, they are Georges/AG2R La Mondiale, Ricci Bitti/Farnese Vini, Chavez/Colombia Coldeportes, Bihel/Team Differdange and Sprick/Argos Shimano. There biggest advantage peaked at 7m 31s but is now slowly coming down as the bunch start to liven up
Sprick is doing long turns on the front in an effort to keep the pace high
The peleton has definitely upped the pace as the single file has been formed
The lead has now dropped below three minutes
The harmony in the break has just gone out of the window as attack after attack has just ripped it apart. Chavez/Colombia Coldeportes closely followed by Georges/AG2R La Mondiale and Sprick/Argos Shimano are the only three that remains from the break of the day
With the breakaways safely back in the peleton its time for the attacks to start and first to have a go is Ghyselinck of Cofidis
He is reeled in at the five kilometre to go mark
It looks like we are going to be treated to a mass bunch sprint as the rain clouds finally open after being threatening all day
The rider with the fastest finish today is Manuel Belletti of AG2R La Mondiale who showed a clean pair of wheels to his rivals

AG2R La Mondiale
Well we have to put todays race down as one to forget, we never achieved anything other than getting miles in the legs and to make matters worse William Dugan crashed in the middle of the peleton halfway through the race and was taken to hospital where he was diagniosed with a fractured skull and will be out until at least the end of May |

The GP San Giuseppe should suit your team better than those flat races. Good luck

GP SAN GIUSEPPE
Montecassino – Montecassino – 167km
These four riders broke clear after just two kilometres had been covered of the race, they are Chernetskiy/Itera Katusha, Malaguti/Miche Guerciotti, Dupont/Jong Vlaanderen and Zangerle/Leopard Trek Continental, they currently have an advantage of 4m 48s
Acqua & Sapone are on the front of the pack making sure the break doesn't get too much of an advantage
The leaders has never got more than four minutes on the peleton but they continue to keep a steady pace going at the front
The last time check was given as 2m 39s, so they are keeping a similar pace to the main pack at the moment
Segers/An Post Sean Kelly is trying to bridge across the gap to the break as the finish gets closer and closer
Acqua & Sapone have done their job to perfection and reeled in all of the breakaway riders just before the ten kilometre to go mark
Due to the fast pace they were setting at the front of the pack Callegarin and Bazzana of Team Type 1 have managed to split away from the others and open up a small advantage
As they go inside the final kilometre they are holding a small gap of 25s, will it be enough
Just, they both cross the line as the pack was about to catch them and its Bazzana who grabs his first victory of the season

Team Type 1 - Sanofi
Hell Yeah, I was not expecting that result today, but it makes it that even more better just watching your team grab a 1-2 in Italy with two Italian riders, i am totally over the moon |

Ooooow, TT1 domination! Brilliant
Two days ago I saw a piece on tv about 2 Belgian riders with Type 1 Diabetes and they joined some new American team that also only has riders of team type 1. You know what team this is? Or is this TT1 under a different name? |

Nice race Sutty68, but how did you get the gap to the pack? Did you attack? |

Thats what I call winning in style

BikeRoel - No, they were the first two riders of my sprint train and they just rode away
Atlantius - Thanks
bigggassi - The team certainly needed that morale boost |
