Fourth day in France, and first day for climbers / puncheurs... unfortunately I didn't have any as Pierre Rolland stayed in Malaysia, and he's getting ready for Tirreno-Adriatico and fulfilling another of my sponsor's goal, which is top 5 in Italian race.
I went for the mountain premiums with Castroviejo, but he didn't do very well, ending up with only 7 points.
And it was even worst when it comes to the finish line, as my best rider - Castroviejo - reported there 47th, with Crado being 50th.
Win went to Jost van Leijen. Six other men (including Sagan) got some time advance.

After bad day in France, for a change - a bad day in Italy came.
Coca-Cola
Maciej Bodnar
Festus Ackers
Chris Barton
Servulo Giner
Michal Kwiatkowski
Remigiusy Pawilowski
Alex Rasmussen
Pierre Rolland
Alen Sterbal
Tirreno-Adriatico (WT)
It was a 16,5 km long team time trial, and I don't know what I did wrong, but despite being among the race favourites I finished last with hughe time loss.
That's not a good news considering my sponsor wants top 5 there. For now Pierre Rolland starts 1'15" behind.

Another day in France, another time trial, only this time an individual one, and much better for my team.
My best time-trialist - Jonathan Castroviejo - was so fast I couldn't take a picture of him. He finished 4th, losing only with legends like: Jungels, Martin and Contador.

Day 2 of race of two seas.
Chris Barton started his KoM capaign. He was bit late joining breakaway group for the first categorized climb, but managed to win the second one.
Few kilometers later Barton lost balance and felt down.
He managed to get back to the breakaway, and get 2nd place on next intermediate sprint. He even did better on next one.
Then breakaway was caught and mass sprint started. I tried to form a train for Rasmussen but he was too tired after two climbs. In fact my only rider who had some energy left was Pierre Rolland, and funny enough, he managed to finish 7th. 12 points went to Heinrich Haussler, who on that day was above Mark Cavendish

Then it was back to France for day 6 of Paris-Nice.
Having no chance for a good final result, my main goal was to get some mountain points for Castroviejo. Unfortunately he felt shortly after race start.
Because of that I had to use Monsalve instead. He did quite well, ending day with 7 points, which moved him to 6th in KoM classification.
He was accompanied by Boeckmans, who added 6 points to his pool, and he's 3rd at the moment.
At that was it, when it comes to my team's recognision. My best rider - Jonathan Monsalve - finished 39th, and lost over 2 minutes to the stage winner - Rui Costa.

Doesn't matter - he wouldn't be able to keep it on his back anyway. These shared tours are killing me. Can't wait when it's over, and my team is unity again. |
