Doping just is a part of cycling, which isn't pleasant to know, but it just is. And if every doper should get a lifetime ban, fine:

Without most of these riders, cycling wouldn't been what it was today.

Actually, your grammar looks fine, it's a semantic mistake. |

Has anyone heared the uuuus for Vino at the finale? It was such a shame today. A very dark day for cycling, a professional doper wins and another one jumps for podium, although he sucked Phil and Cadel's wheels all day. Really a poor day.
The only good thing is that Phil is the new leader of the ProTour now...i think. Romandie next on Tuesday! |

I can't give you any excuses for it - there are no excuses. I've been meaning to spend more time in the restaurant recently, but I haven't been too well...things aren't going very well back there. The poor cook's son has been put away again, and poor old Mrs Dalrymple who does the washing up can hardly move her poor fingers, and then there's Gilberto's war wound - but they're good people, and they're kind people, and together we were beginning to get over this dark patch ... there was light at the end of the tunnel . .. now this . .. now this...

Let that never happen again.

Common misconception. And completely wrong. Cycling makes them who they are. They do not make cycling what it is.
If they had never ridden a race, other riders would be considered great instead.

Really yes, a good Gesink would never finish 15th in Fleche Wallone but much higher. He is nowhere near his Basque Country form. Open your eyes Really? Gesink isn't that good rider how do you think he is. At least so far. He is in good form, but Kreuziger or Nibali aren't in better in this moment. Top form of them we'll see in July. Simply told he isn't somehow better cyclist than Nibali or Kreuziger. At least in results. In your theory Gesink is a megastar. So how could be his biggest result in his career win in Giro dell'Emilia so far?
Oh cmon, as neo pro (20 years old) gesink was 9th in Fleche Wallone. He is much much worse form this week. It's obvious to anyone but you
He was also 4th in FW as 21 year old
In Basque Tour form certain top 3 in FW...

Makes sence, my bad. But in that case they would be testing the others on doping aswell, where now they focus more on the bigger riders. In a race it makes sence that you test the first 10 and then the 11th. Without those first 10, the 11th might get caught on doping aswell. Correct me if i'm wrong.
But do you honestly think, the sport is clean? I certainly hope, and actually did, but since i joined here, i've seen nothing else then every better then normal performance being done of as dope. Most recent example being Sagan.
Edit: Quote from VDB. "I didn't dope more then the others in the top 10."

Come on - forget about it.
Vino beat the other 9 dopers in the top 10 and Gesink is hopeless.
Roll on Romandie and the Giro. |

You're quite right, however they don't have the budget or manpower to test everyone. Otherwise they would.

I'm not naive

The guy shows up as a neo-pro and immediately slaps an elite peloton silly while on a team of dopers, not having shown a performance anywhere near that in the youth categories.

I'm hanging on to the stupid hope that Gilbert might be clean

Let´s just see what happens at the Giro. Hope Vino wins, that will definitely settle it .
If he was in such superhuman conditions as all of you claim, he would have won both mountain top finishes at Trentino a few days ago, but he didn´t, he got beaten both times,
He was just the best on the road today, period. Just because he fucked up once, doesn´t mean he is still cheating. And with the more rigorous doping controls today, and all these riders getting caught lately, it´s very unlikely that he will get away with doping again. Vino will always be a marked man when it comes to doping tests. He´s probably undergoing more doping controls than any other rider in the peloton.
He had the best tactics, good form, and a little luck to win today |

Vino is as doped as Cancellara, Gilbert, Boonen, Contador, Schleck brothers, Sagan, Samuel Sanchez, Sicard, Bettini, Armstrong, Evans... Don't be naive.
How could any of this riders ride clean and still beat all the doped opposition?? If it was possible, just a few would still taking the risk of doping... |

Well either
a) Sagan just started doping, and beat all the top pro's implying they are clean
or
b) Sagan is clean and is one of the great talents for the future
or
c) Everyone is doping and Sagan is still a massive talent for the future.
Either way you look at it the futures bright.
Also Ruben, to claim that Gesink is a guaranteed top 3 in peak form is massively naive. Classics are way to unpredictable for that.
P.S. I realise Sagan isn't the main topic of conversation but if you write the same things about Vino it is almost as aplicable.
P.P.S. Does Voeklers 10th imply that we may see him up there in the mountains in the tour this year?

You quite often see Voeckler up there in the mountains, until it gets to about the 2nd mountain stage in a row. Then he can't hack it anymore.

Essentially he just doesn't have the "recovery" of other riders?
