Zubeldia wants out of Astana (don't blame him) and to join Radioshack. But he is in the same boat as Contador and has one year left. |

Was just about to post this: it's being reported that QuickStep have signed Contador.

TV here is reporting the fact that international media are reporting it (they didn't specify which media).
If it's confirmed, it's quite a coup for QuickStep.
EDIT: To clarify: they mentioned a belgian newspaper, but I didn't get the name of the newspaper and I didn't understand if what they meant is that that's the paper that reported it. I didn't catch the story from the start.

When you consider they have Barredo and the cash to go after another mountain helper, it might not be a bad move.
The only problem will be they'll have to bring guys to help Boonen in the Tour and won't be able to commit 100% to Contador. |

They didn't say anything else.
What about your first post above mine? I don't understand what you mean. Explain it please

Well if QSI signed Contador, they must also buy people who support contador in the mountains, Zubeldia, Navarro, Noval, ... |

Oh ok. And you also said Quickstep signed Contador, so since we've both seen the news, I'm guessing it's true.

I read that he signed with QSI, but hadn't been released by Astana yet. The contract was pending a negotiated release from Astana.
With Zubeldia I read he has a contract offer for 2 years from Radioshack that he WANTS to sign... but must negotiate a release from Astana first.
The inconsistency there is that it doesn't make a ton of sense for Contador to sign prior to getting released... so maybe that means Quickstep already negotiated everything. |

That would be weird. QSI would finally have a "GC" man. Legit. But yes, he wouldn't have 100% help and probably won't win. |

Same story as Evans, altough probobly QS would buy some helpers for him tough.

If true I am very happy. Contador will have a more average team and could be easyer to touch for the other contenders. Could make a more unpredictable tour de France.
I still think he will win though. |

If Contador didn't go to Caisse, they've really shooted themselves in their feet. They've lost Rodrigeuz, for having enough money, and if he sign QSI, they're really screwed... |
