Well - the best thing is. This can become one of the greatest tdf in history. Last night, when I couldn't sleep because of the summerheat, I lay in my bed wondering:
A danish site has made a list of all the riders, all the teams, their objectives with the tour and so on. What strikes me is, that the're at least 6-8 guys who comes to the tour with a hope of standing in top three in paris (Menchov, Schleck, Schleck, Sastre, Contador, Armstrong, Evans and maybe more). And the are also some 8 guys or so, who want's to end in the top ten - Kreuziger, Kirschen, Dekker and so on.
My prediction: it could become a legendary tdf, with so many unknown factors. Contador is looking the best - he would have won last year, had he competed. Where is Armstrong, who is Armstrong? are A. Schleck better than last year, where he lost his chances in one stage in the pyrenees.
I've taken out the calender of july, and is going to be near my TV! |

I REALLY think that Contador won't endure seeing Armstrong in yellow. I think Contador attacking hard in the moutains is something difficult to handle for Armstrong.
And let's not forget the heat. It'll be this year like in 2003, seeing the temperatures we already have here in France.
What can also happen is poor Astana tactics, some wind on the mediterranean stages, ...
And finally, Andy Schleck in yellow in Paris
Seriously, I'd rather see Contador winning than Armstrong.

Yup, Dekker has been denied start after reanalysis of some doping tests in 2007.. |

I'm really no fan of Lance Armstrong but !!! despite being handycapped by a serious injury during his preparation for the Giro he finished 12th and (maybe just my impression ..) he got better every day the Giro lasted.
He will be in shape at the Tour de France, he will be a contender for the win im sure.
And I can't think of Bruyneel letting an 7 time Tour de France Winner carry the bottles. Not with this capabilities.
This man is still dangerous 8)

I really believe Lance and Contador will start working together, they know what they have to do to rid themselves of Schlecks, Sastre, Evans. |

Ah
Sorry, I still am quite new and don't have the best overview of all the threads and so on
I think Lance will support Contador... Unless Lance has about 2-3 minutes on him from the first time trial, which is unlikely B) |

Its going to be the same as with Evans - CSC last year, Contador in yellow, and let him stay with Evans and all, then Armstrong attacks ...

Well, that's the situation I'd like to see.
Contador is in yellow with Evans, Schleck x 2, Menchov. Armstrong, who's not much after Contador in the GC, attacks. Last year, Schleck stayed with the group being loyal to Sastre and the team. Would Contador or Armstrong do the same? I don't think so. |

Yea, but I do really believe some how that Armstrong will be 2nd in the tour. He won't try and pull the move another American did back in the day (Lemond) with Hinault. But he will do what he has to in order to ring Astana the 1,2.

The guy is a threat..as he was before Giro. After Milano-San Remo I was calm..he was to fat to wasted after finish.
But TdF will be different..he is a threat.
But I never but my money or prediction for him..I have my principles..(Go Contador..) |

I also think Contador can't be loyal to a guy who's arrived when he was the best stage racer in the world, threatening his leader spot.
For me, Contador has too much self-esteem to let Armstrong win, even to give him a chance.

But if he is as stupid as in Paris-Nice he won't win so lets hopen he eats and drinks now.

Impossible to say which GT was best until after the Vuelta.

the tour direction like the mass-sprints very much, the giro and vuelta is more mountain stages an special stages like criterium, 60km time trail, climb time trial
