another one:
"They were already dead and I couldn't wait for them," Boonen said.
Pozzato..(little over reacted..but still)
"The Belgian fans were not very polite out there, I got spat on by someone. Whatever, it's nothing. You have to consider all those police and photographer motorbikes protecting Boonen, he might have had a little bit of slipstream, but I only had one bike on my side."

It didn't look like Boonen got any slipstream. But the thing with the belgians spitting etc. isn't hard to believe.

Anybody think that they should change the barriers in these races so that people do keep getting flipped off their bike...two races in a row makes me think that this is not just a coincidence. Thats almost impossible, Hushovdt just made an error. Afterworths he said it himself that he hands were shaking and that was one of the reasons he wasn't able to sfeer like he normally does.
And crashes like in the RVV f.ex happen every year. I remember Mcewen manouvring Brechel into one (2 or 3 years ago i think).
It was actually his damaged hand, after he crashed in Ronde in the sprint for 3rd place, that was shaking badly. |

Luckily, I was able to watch the race at my parents-in-law's summer cottage - and what a disappointment. I had really looked forward to be seeing fast guys such as Pozzato, Hushovd and Boonen fight it out for the win - and Flecha attacking as a crazy person. Then they all crash, and Boonen gets the win.
How sad. |

Roger De Vlaeminck prases Boonens victory, which he says is not as easy won as last years edition. But when asked if to compare them he replied "Let Boonen win a few hundred more wins like Tirreno - Adriatico, Liege - Bastogne - Liege and Milano - San Remo then we can talk about it. And how is he gonna rest now? Four, five or six weeks? Why don't he ride the ardennes" Take that Boonen

He just doesn't want Boonen to win again, so he can stay the record holder. Especially since mostly he only criticizes Boonen, saying he is not that good. De Vlaeminck just a huge ego and a fourth victory by Boonen would not be good for his ego. |

I would really like to see the look on De Vlaeminck's face if that happened. |
