I feel like making a motivational poster based on the rider that finished 5th. The header should be "50 SP" and the text should be "Dammit woman, try to use the pedals!"

I'm very happy Swedens first medal is in cycling, hopefully it will give some good publicity for the sport
Also congrats to Britain, clearly Cooke was the best rider today

There are two ways we can look at this:
Either it's national teams and CSC has no place in this, in which case Andy should shut the fuck up because Cancellara was not on his team.
Or we can assume trade teams (CSC) do matter, in which case Cancellara dragged a much better sprinter than Andy who also rides for their same trade team (Kolobnev) back up to the front. In which case Andy should shut the fuck up.
So, all things considered: Shut up and stop whining Andy.
Indeed...this was Andy first mistake of giving comment...this isnt some team race..this is olympics. Yes sometimes team mates play there also some tactic game...
Cancellara deserves that pronze 100%..
And wow Ruben I didnt expect that anouncment |

Crap sticks. I wish that Swede had won gold, and Cooke had got nothing. I (insert explitive) hate Nicole Cooke. She may well be Britains best (thats a matter of opinion) female road racer, but she has the intelligence of a small uneducated mole rat. Yes she really is that dumb. Trying to hold a conversation with her would be like drawing blood out of a really pissed off Lion. I don't like her, and I don't care that shes British. Shes a (insert yet another explitive).

Great stuff for Nicole.
I never got to se the race as I was asleep, but my dad tells me she had to do a lot in the sprint and went very early, so it's even better that she won
Also, SUCK IT VOS!
I hate Vos

Team Spain's Maria Isabel Moreno, 27 years old of Huesca, tested positive for EPO and became the first athlete of the 2008 Olympic Games to fail a doping control, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced this morning.
"This is not good news for Spanish cycling," said the general secretary of the Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC), Eugenio Bermúdez. "It diminishes our satisfaction, but does not blur the work performed yesterday by her companions ... or the medal of Samuel [Sánchez]."
She was the Spanish Road Race National Champion as well.

first off WADA can get stuffed, Cycling will never leave the olympics.
Secondly, yeah China has a bad human rights record, but still during the 16 days the games are on i expect people to put that behind them and in fairness, here they have.

I didn't check my internet all day. And as we know, when that happens, someone tests positive (the last two times, it was Sella and Riccò)

For the sake of cycling, stop coming online - the drugs cheats will be gone!
Stop after you've wiped out half the peloton - I still want to watch it, and the rest should be spooked enough to stop! |

My life's plan is to keep going until I'm the best non-suspended cyclist in the world. I should be about 45 when it comes to fruition.
That and my B plan is to keep playing the lottery every week.

The Dutch track cycling team has suffered a setback in its preparations for the Olympic Games track cycling events later this week after an unusual training accident yesterday. Levi Heimans lost control of his bike and took out his national head coach Peter Pieters in the process.
This is one way to do it |

well, it was quite a hard crash. fortunatly heimans was pretty ok, only a little pain in his whrist, but the coach had to be taken to hospital. again, fortunatly it's not too bad and he'll be able to coach the dutch riders anyway
Anyway, tomorrow it's time trial day. I hope Marianne Vos can make up the 6th place in the road race and take the gold here. She was going for 3 gold medals(points race on track as well) but the cold rain killed her... |
