You're right and I've thought about turning it up to extreme from now too.

I was on the verge of what to do, but I guess doing the change now also gives me the chance to get used to it before doing a full season.

I'm about to start the Vuelta in the game so it will be a good time to do it Grin

Vervaeke won the queen stage of the race, but by not getting a gap and joined by other 14 riders in the lead group, he would see the GC slip away from his fingers. It wouldn't be too bad as it was his team - mate, Grosu who took the win thanks to the bonus seconds he got in the sprints, in two of which he was victorious.

Grosu won the first stage after a very close finish

Given the opposition he had, the sprint was much closer than Groenewegen had anticipated, but at the end of the day what mattered was he was first across the finish line in one of his favorite races but one he could just not get his hands on in the last couple of seasons.

Sivakov will make his Jumbo Grand Tour debut in the last 3 week race of the year. It will be the first time the Russian will be leading a team in a Grand Tour so it's best if we don't put too much pressure on him.

George Bennett will be looking to complete his KoM triple after winning the polka dots jersey in the Tour last year and the blue jersey in Il Giro this year, while Van Poppel will be looking to continue the excellent form shown in Binck Bank Tour.

Simon Yates had a dominant Vuelta win last year. He wasn't exactly among the best in Giro and Tour so it's very likely he is peaking for La Vuelta once again. But the competition will be fierce. Lopez didn't look very well at the Tour but he has to be in better form here, while Simon's brother, Adam will be looking to make the Giro-Vuelta double. But before taking on the race to his rivals, he has to win the supremacy in his team, a team which also contains Bernal, Quintana and Thomas!

Vuelta a Espana: Stage 1
[img-r]https://i.imgur.com/oApXgoq.png[/img-r]
i.imgur.com/vn6SIxK.png

The stellar team of Ineos were the first to start today and set up a very good time, one which would not be beat by anyone.

i.imgur.com/ubWC5oo.jpg

Soler is definitely hoping to get a Grand Tour podium this year and what better one than his home one. A disappointing time by Mitchelton today as they finish 21 seconds behind Ineos

i.imgur.com/tHEfx3d.jpg

Froome lost a fantastic opportunity to win his sixth Tour de France in July, while Pinot missed out on the podium in Il Giro in the final stages. Both would want to do better here, but today is not the day for that as Lotto are 13 seconds slower than Ineos

i.imgur.com/dORuK7L.jpg

Roglic and Lopez will be pleased with today's result as Deceuninck finished less than one second behind Ineos (same as Sunweb, but both teams lose more in the GC), but their team - mates will definitely be upset on missing out on a Grand Tour stage win

i.imgur.com/t0d8I0G.jpg

Geoghegan Hart and Bardet will be looking to improve their Tour de France performances, but it's a disastrous start for Ag2r as they finish dead last today, 33 seconds behind Ineos

i.imgur.com/o7MhHU1.jpg

Jumbo miss out on winning all the team time - trials from Grand Tours this year and by quite a lot as they finish outside the top 10, 19 seconds down on Ineos. To make matters worst both Van Poppel and Sivakov were given a few more seconds than their team - mates at the finish line

A punchy route and a some very tight roads made it for a very interesting race and even though the pack was really thinned out towards the end we had the first mass sprint in the last 3 years.

Groenewegen was set up to perfection by his team - mates but the small uphill section right before the end slowed him down quite a bit, which allowed Turgis to go past him and take another important win in the one day races after last year Plouay win.

Quite surprisingly there was not much of a fight on the first categorized climb of the race and Antoine Devanne became the first polka dot jersey wearer

i.imgur.com/Bdrnb5o.jpg

After an initial fight with Deceuninck, Jumbo took control of things in the sprint, but Trek were going really fast as well on the other side of the road as Degenkolb was set to launch Theuns.

i.imgur.com/zDLfGJs.jpg

But it would not be one of the riders with a train to take today's win as Michael Matthews jumped form Van Poppel's win to beat the Dutchman for the stage win and take the red jersey with it as well

A more difficult stage on today's profile and with Devanne not part of the breakaway, the Frenchman's adventure in polka dots ends after only one day, with Matteo Busato taking over the jersey

i.imgur.com/eSENJTN.jpg

Teunissen managed to survive today's climbs in the main group and as a result Sivakov and Bennett tried to work for him in the finale, but it would prove to be too much for him and much more suited for climbers.

It was Kiwatkowski who had the best punch to the finish line to take Sunweb's second consecutive win. What a start from them and Matthews finished in the main group as well which means they now have the first two places in the GC as well

First second category climb of this year's Vuelta and the winner of it also gets the polka dot jersey: Quentin Jauregui. The third wearer in the same number of days. Bennett finished was second at the summit to score his first points

Despite Jumbo taking good control of things in the first part of the sprint, with just a few metres before the finish line, Van Poppel, Ackermann, Kristoff, Sagan and Bauhaus were all very evenly matched

It was Peter Sagan who had the best acceleration at the end to take another Grand Tour victory after his Champs Elysees victory. Van Poppel finished second again and now leads the green jersey classification

Another sprint suited better for climbers that actual sprinters in La Vuelta. Fuglsang got a rare chance to ride for himself this season and he made the most of it as he beat Pogacar and Ooomen to the finish line.

The pack broke apart on that last uphill section and we see a lot of changes in the GC as a result, with Kwiatkowski inheriting the red jersey from team - mate Michael Matthews

Pogacar and Sosa attacked on the last climb, but Deceuninck wouldn't allow them to get too far and it was the right choice by the Belgian team as Lopez and Woods managed to make the jump to the leading duo inside the final kilometre.

Miguel Angel Lopez looked really strong today and he was the one to take the stage win as he moved into the lead of the overall and mountains classifications as well. Could this be the Grand Tour where Lopez finally breaks the ice and joins the list of Grand Tour winners?

The Vuelta has been all about climbers sprinting for stage wins so far and today was no different. And this time it was Jumbo's Pavel Sivakov who got the chance to raise his hands up after crossing the finish line. The first opportunity for the Russian to ride a Grand Tour for himself and he already delivers a stage win. Quality.

Amund Jansen was forced due abandon the race after a crash and it showed as the Jumbo train seemed to be all over the place today, with Van Poppel being set up by Bouwmann and Bennett as Teunissen was caught in the pack.

Deceuninck were the best looking train today, but Ackermann failed to deliver on his team - mates work and it was Michael Matthews who took his second stage win of the race

Nice to see Sivakov get a win, and move into the top 10 of the GC. I think results are looking a bit better now. Still getting wins, but not every other stage Pfft

Jumbo did a very good job of controlling a hectic finale in Plouay. In fact, they did such a good job both of our sprinters ended up fighting for the win with Grosu taking it in a very close finish with Gronenewegen and Hodeg.

The second stage of the race was as perfect as they come for Van Aert, who after taking the intermediate sprints placed on or between climbs in the last part of the stage, went on to surprise the sprinters and take the stage win as well.

i.imgur.com/ptIGjFF.jpg
Van Aert wins stage two

With Vervaeke and Kelderman working really hard at the front of the main group in the queen stage, only a few riders were able to stay in Van Aert's group as the Belgian would beat all of them to take the win in the sprint and secure the overall victory. Third in a row in Germany.

The pack had no intention of catching the breakaway today which resulted in the first winning breakaway of this year's Vuelta.

Pavel Kochetkov attacked his fellow escapees quite early on the final climb to go on an take a fantastic solo win and the polka dots jersey along the way as well. A day to tell your grandchildren about for the Russian as he managed the breakaway contained some very fine climbers

i.imgur.com/663t8sP.jpg

There really wasn't a lot of action in the pack today except a small acceleration by Lopez in the last kilometre. Sivakov and Latour followed him as they gained 12 seconds on the rest of the favorites

Geraint Thomas can't be very happy with the role Ineos have given him this year given he is last year's Tour de France winner and today he had the chance to give them a slap in the face as he took the stage win

i.imgur.com/5bNeEHw.jpg

Pavel Sivakov would finish the stage only 20 seconds slower than the former time - trial World Champion, a result which will see him jump up to fourth in the general classification

i.imgur.com/ngWOsmK.jpg

Pogacar seems to be Lopez' main rival for the overall win this year and today he would manage to make some time back on the Colombian as he finished on the stage podium, 14 seconds slower than Thomas

i.imgur.com/lrKrF6b.jpg

Lopez did not have the worst time - trial of his life but losing 12 seconds to Pogacar can't be too pleasing especially since at the top of the climb the Colombian was leading the race. He will retain the red jersey for 11 seconds though
