Now this is interesting. A CSC spokesman said on dutch radio they are not going to contract Dekker, but, he also said they informed about his blood values with the UCI, and UCI said there was nothing wrong with Dekkers values (like I said before). And they are not getting Dekker because there are 'other type of riders we are interested in'.
However, if you ask about such details like blood values, I think they are still serious, because from my side of 'source' I heard they are still negotiating... |

Not just 'a' CSC-spokesman, it was the CSC-spokesman, Brian Nygaard. This seems very strange though - if they're not seeking riders like Thomas Dekker who could actually win the smaller stage-races where Julich and Voigt are no more dominating, then what the hell do they want?
Never.

don't worry, I know they are still talking. Like I said it's typical to deny before a contract is signed |

It looks more and more like Samu will go to Cervelo, now they deny the rumor

I remember when Danilo Di Luca's manager told that Di Luca had almost certainly signed a contract with CSC a couple of days after the Giro 2007. It was what we on Danish call a 'duck' - and was just something the manager could use in negotiations with other teams.
Never.

Yes, they do that all the time, the agents, managers and representatives. They tell everyone and anyone that will listen that they have an offer from team X in the hope that someone will leak that info to drive up the price of the rider.
I'm guessing that may be what Berkhout has told Ruben.

Wrong in this case. Cyclingnews fucked up
Berkhout told me, that cyclingnews only asked him wether CSC was interested in Dekker and vice versa, and he said yes. He didn't say anything about being close to a contract. But Cyclingnews took it to themselves to invent that part. What's even worse, they chose as title "Dekker considers CSC".
As if Dekker is too good or something. So Riis was pissed off... lol |

Good example of what I had said in a couple of topics, those about power calculations for example. Not every men are gifted the same for sprinting, but developing endurance is something that most people can do, thus the 410 W limit makes sense (as it's related to endurance) (and no, I'm not foolish enough to believe Bos will be a pure climber on the road). Whereas no matter how much Moncoutié (or any random climber) would train on the track, he'd never ever become a half decent track sprinter. Thus there are no Watts threshold that indicate doping in track cycling.
Sorry for the off topic. |

This is a bit off topic too: How is the 410 watts limit calculated. I have not been able to find it anywhere, so to me that number just comes off as completely random. Is there som logic to that number? |
