Race report

3 riders form the break of today. No major names involved as usual.

With 5kms to go they are caught.

With 3kms to go Peter is leading out Johnnie, while Joep is hanging on in the 3rd wheel, trying to pick up some bonification seconds.

With 2kms to go Brambilla is receiving a perfect lead-out.

Under the banner it seems to become a battle between Brambilla and Holloway.

At the finish

it's no use discussing the winner. Brambilla is very dominant. Averin makes it a 1-2 for his team. Johnnie, Peter and Joep all finish in the top-10

Due to the presence of Arranz in the break we send Taeke to the front to secure his polkadots.

Thanks to his victory in the first sprint he secures his lead.

With 5kms to go the break still has a good gap.

While Peter leads out Johnnie, the break is caught.

Under the banner Peter sprints away though!

But it's not enough

as Pacheco takes the win.

Race profiles

Stage 1

The prologue is the start here. Specialists are likely to take this one.

Stage 2

The first stage is immediately the queen stage. With two difficult climbs, it seems a good climber should win here.

Stage 3

The time trial is the next in the series of important stages. 25 kilometers should make a significant difference.

Stage 4

The final change to shake up the GC. A finish up a short hill to the Mt. Bachelor ski resort shouldn't make too big gaps though.

Stage 5

The first of 2 chances for sprinters. In a short criterium around Bend the parcours is flat enough for most sprinters.

Stage 6

This flat stage is more difficult. With several hills in it the sprinters may have trouble surviving here.

Our squad
We have decided not to bring a rider for the GC, but to aim on stages here.
Björn Arvid is the 'leader' here. He will have trouble in the mountains, but he'll try to show himself in the hilly stage.
Jonas Ek is here to go in the break in any stage. Pretty much normal for this team.
Kristian Hammarling is going for the flat stages. Especially in stage 5 he has a good chance of winning due to his criterium experience.
Fatbardh Haxhi will support Kristian in the flat stages. In the other stages he'll be taking it easy.
Simon Holt has two key stages. Stage 4 he'll help Björn, while stage 6 seems like a perfect stage for him.
Heiko Kalichmann is also here to go into breaks.
Khieu Tet Khamphan has a free role as well. He might try to go into a break as well.
Djaja Susanto is here to help Kristian as well in the flat stages. He'll probably ride in front as lead-out there.

Race report

Murphy sets a leading time with 6min16. Previous leader Young is 4 seconds slower.

Costa fails to beat the current best time, which is from Bibby. Costa comes at a provisional 4th, 6 seconds behind.

Kristian sets our best time for today, 10 seconds behind Bibby.

Mestre sets a provisional 2nd, 2 seconds behind Bibby.

Steensen fails to beat Bibby as well. 3 seconds is his loss.

Veloso is the last to have a chance of beating Bibby. He fails as well though!

I do feel embarrassed for not taking a screen of Bibby now :redface

Race report

Our only chance for victory is in the break, so Björn decided to give it a go.

At the first of 2 long climbs Davila, Buruczki and Wren attack.

At the top, Björn beats Chenaux and seems to capture the mountain classification.

A bit later, the second group of escapees catches the 2 leadera.

At the foot of the final climb the break is caught.

Soon a group of 13 splits off, none of our riders are in it.

Deignan eventually proves to be the strongest of this group.

Björn is our best rider today with 18th, over 3min30 behind Deignan.
