Yeah, when you can choose from 2nd GC, Points, Youth and Team, Team just has to be the most important classification.
But seriously, great Vuelta for Henry, it's only one more step from here on...
And stay with Becca.

Amazing finish to his second Vuelta! Two jerseys, heck - I hope Henry still has room at home for them.
Oh, and #TeamBecca. Although she's really like... not good with her feelings.

krisa - Thanks!
Selwink - Yeah, next season I hope to do sort of the same, except of the injury
anderspcm - It sure is a great time now
Dippofix - Well Team Classification is something special. I've never won it on PCM before in a GT But of course, Henry loves his other achievements just a bit more
welker3257 - Nothing to add
Jakstar22 - Noted
sutty68 - Yeah, he really is! Talking about a good comeback!
Shonak - Those jerseys sure are great. Especially the Points Jersey, conquered on the final race day.
Well, she and Henry go well together, then
Got a (sort of) free weekend now. So I'd like to move ahead a bit.
I'm backing up my entire laptop right now, after that I'll get to racing.
(Mostly backing it up for PCM, too) |

The Night of the Heartache - Part IV I walked Becca to her house. She was recovering pretty fast, which pleased me. I told her "good night" and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
During the next month, during the Vuelta, I would have a lot of thinking to do. She would expect an answer when I returned.
This was such a hard choice. Either way I lose someone I care about.
When I got home, I checked my messages before going to bed. I remember the phone call which Becca asked me not to answer.
The voice was Van Impe's.
"Henry, listen, I've got some bad news. It's still under the radar so keep it quiet for now, we'll go public during the Vuelta.
The thing is... Citigroup has been involved in a major banking scandal. I'm afraid they'll be pulling the plug out of the team at the end of the season. So in the Vuelta, you'll be riding for the future of the team, give it your all, mate. Well... Good night, see you next week."
What?
Oh man, what a terrible evening this turned into.
Hey everyone! The final race before the Worlds for me! After my amazing Vuelta, Duvivier couldn't risk not taking me to the World Championships this year. Julien must be pretty angry but that's the way it is.
The World Championships are in Spain this year. So I know my way around there by now!
Grand Prix de Wallonie The profile looks great. A perfect prep race for the World Championships.
For those who don't know; Wallonie is the Southern part of Belgian. It's a bit of an odd place, between Flanders and France. Which practically means they speak French but still have great fries.
The Race With a rider in the breakaway, we could take a waiting position in the race.
Trofimov tried to go the distance. I did most of the chasing. I felt pretty strong.
However, Trofimov is no sucker. He kept a little gap. The climb to the Citadel would decide the winner!
Luckily the climb was long enough to allow me to go full power! I came to speed and passed him.
Oh yes! My first one day race victory of the year!
Result 1 | Henry Vergnaud | Citigroup Pro Cycling | 4h38'04 | 2 | Yury Trofimov | Katusha Team | s.t. | 3 | Bob Jungels | RadioShack - Leopard | + 24 | 4 | Rob Ruijgh | Vacansoleil - DCM Pro Cycling Team | s.t. | 5 | Gianni Meersman | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. | 6 | Jurgen Van Goolen | Accent Jobs - Wanty | s.t. | 7 | Dries Devenyns | Citigroup Pro Cycling | s.t. | 8 | Romain Bardet | AG2R La Mondiale | s.t. | 9 | Pavel Brutt | Katusha Team | + 1'00 | 10 | Peter Velits | Omega Pharma - Quick·Step Cycling Team | s.t. |
Analysis & Daily Thoughts Well, I admit this wasn't the toughest startlist, but winning is never easy, believe me.
I'm happy with this victory and it gives me great courage and confidence towards the World Championships. Maybe there will be a miracle?
I'd love to see the look on Julien's face if there was!

Ah those Bankers
At least you are doing the job aren't you?
With or without Citigroup I am not worried for your cycling future.
Because regarding your sentimental life, I am getting really worried. At least we will know soon

A nice win here. And that's sad to see Citigroup going so early. It might turn into Celesio

duxili - I think the team is getting a lot of attention, so no problem there personally, Henry has had a tough year so far...
Jakstar22 - Well, wouldn't that just be a miracle |

The Vuelta was one of the most hectic periods of my life. I never expected to fight for the podium so I had to be there every single day. I had podium ceremonies with the young jersey and many interviews to give. Then I had this blog to update!
When that was all over, I had to think about Sofia, Becca, but also about Citigroup and Van Impe. I didn't have a second to spare.
One night, I made a decision. It was a dream that made me see it very clearly. What followed was a peaceful sleep. I won the stage the next day.
Time for the World Championships!
World Championships - Team Time Trial
Citigroup finished 3rd, how about that? We were just behind runner-up Quickstep and winner Team Sky.
World Championships - Individual Time Trial Froome put in a massive effort and was provisional first. We would have to wait a long time for someone to challenge his time.
Favorite for the title Martin looked well on his way to beat the African's time, but he missed out!
Thomas De Gendt, reigning World Champion Time Trial, stepped up and took his 2nd consecutive title. Don't forget we signed him, we'll have the WC ITT next year in our squad!
World Championships - Road Race I was very excited to be selected! My first World Championships.
It seems I have left an impression in Spain, because I saw my name multiple times on the profile!
The race was just a tad too long and hard for me. Aged 23, I lack the extra stamina I needed today. I reacted, but always a bit too slow and too late.
At the front, absolute favorite Peter Sagan went down! Word in the peloton is Evans made a big steering mistake and Sagan had to pay for it.
I ended up in a chasing group, but nobody wanted to work with me. It was too late, I had missed the cut and wouldn't be fighting for the title.
Another Spaniard, it has been coming to him, Valverde wins the title, finally!
I end up 11th. Not bad on my first attempt, but I had hoped for more.

Surprising to see De Gendt winning the Time Trial two years in a row I guess 11th place is acceptable for Henry since it was his first World Championship race.

In Vuelta..while wearing points jersey..you also used green bike while your teammate use your custom Citigroup Cannondale bike..how you do that? How to assign specific bike like Henry? |

A comment to bump the report to the next page. I don't always do this but the next update is a pretty big one, I think |
