Italy R.R. Definitive squad
Vincenzo Nibali
Rinaldo Nocentini
Luca Paolini
Filippo Pozzato
Ivan Santaromita
Diego Ulissi
Michele Scarponi
Alessandro Vanotti
Giovanni Visconti
Strong squad, all working for Nibbles obviously. No Ponzi or Caruso, which isn't surprising IMO

Berhane doesnt seem to be picked up on the 2 intermediate splits, by the timing system

Okay, makes sense. Maybe a bike change early on?

Yeah, he was off the back at one point, so I suspect he has changed bikes, which only gets timed at the finish. I seem to recall something similar happening last year.
Also Jennings has tweeted an apology, saying he has been ill.

Smart riding by Slovenia. Really exciting race. Note to myself: Should watch more U23 races in the future.

Well, we can't say that until it is over. Many riders could have made that effort for some time.

The guy's shirt doesn't even fit him. It's pinned along the sides to make it smaller.
Kudus comes over in 9th!

Smart move by France. If they aren't closed up fairly quickly they will be dangerous. Or is it an indication that Alaphilippe might be in trouble?

Dropped: Chamorro, Flakemore, van der Lijke, Lecusinier.
Herklotz always in the last 10 positions, but still in the peloton.

Well, at least the 5 other guys from the break couldn't.
