Yay.. Already a win in the WT Smile Great results for the team. Landa just simply amazing and Cunego securing the 7th place in the GC with a possibility to maybe move up.

A difficult stage but one the sprinters will hope to take never the less. The final 2km are ascending, so the punchers are likely to try and get involved aswell.

Commentators Picks

David Harmon: One name for today, Peter Sagan. The finish suits him perfectly, averaging 4% for 2km, after a bumpy but not impossible run in.The Slovak from In-n-Out has to win today surely!

Sean Kelly: The maillot Jaune may have something to say about that. Edvald Boassen-Hagen climbs pretty strongly, and he and Haiaer will surely do everything to protect that jersey.

Magnus Backstedt: Philippe Gilbert is my choice for today. I think you're underestimating the challenge of that final climb, 2.4km averaging 4.7% is an almost identical challenge to the Cauberg, one of Philippe Gilbert's favourite climbs. I think he'll challenge here today.

Before we went live...

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0001_zps098a7b95.jpg
Lars Bochman took no time waiting this morning, instead he opened up with the mornings first attack, broadly as the riders passed through the KM-0 Marker.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0002_zps25bc8edd.jpg
His attack was reeled in not long afterwards which gave freedom to a second group to give it a go. It was this group which got away, to create a 4 man break, consisting of: David Lopéz(AGT) Petit(Lunar), Marcato(Tap) and Levarlet(ITV)

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0003_zps933fa70c.jpg
It was the Tap-Michelin rider Marcato who took the first of the days checkpoints, holding off Frenchman Petit, at this point they'd opened the gap to 4'46.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0004_zps3ec84ab6.jpg
With 100km to the line Haier came to the front of the pack and began to close down the 6minute gap, whilst the break headed toward the 1st of 3 KotM checkpoints.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0005_zps6e16d23e.jpg
It was Lopéz who took that sprint, the last of the highlight before you joined us.

Live Coverage

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0006_zps1a49ed4e.jpg
Welcome all to Stage 3 of The Paris-Nice, 177km from Vatan to Limoges. You're joining us here with 64km to go, just as the break are about to start the second climb of the day, the Cote du St.Sornin. The profile of the stage from here in is undulating, with a succession of short hard climbs. None the less, the sprinters will still be in with a chance, especially those with a reasonable punch.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0007_zpsc44ebc19.jpg
It's a 2 man fight today on the climbs, this time Levarlet of ITV can hang on, beating Lopéz to the line, leaving them tied as joint KotM leader and all to play for on the final climb in 14km time.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0008_zps0d0ff98b.jpg
A desperate sprint from Marcato has nearly brought ITV's Levarlet down, but some good handling in the gutter means he can stay upright, and claim the 4points, he'll wear the Polka-Dots tomorrow.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0009_zps3f019d9b.jpg
Well there was only one winner in that sprint! It was never in doubt for Marcato, who takes the sprint 2'49 ahead of the peloton. Theres just 38km to go, and Haiaer are still getting no help to shut the move down, will they do it alone?

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0010_zps65a9dbac.jpg
It's almost as though they were listening! ING have taken up the pace at the front, With Pietropolli, Tankink and Lindeman. bringing the chase riders total number to 7 now.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0011_zpsa6da1292.jpg
29km 2'07. The pack has finally remember that there's a breakaway and now they're doing some chasing, the pace is up so the pure sprinters better watch out on the tougher hills, or risk going out the back door.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0012_zps3a4c15e0.jpg
The rolling french countryside gives the breakaway no where to hide, and the peloton have them back in sight here with 23km to go, the catch should be made around 10km from the line at this rate.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0013_zpse8632774.jpg
Hayden Roulston is pulling the pack along with 14km to go. He did this yesterday with an equally monsterish turn, he's been superb for his team all the way through this race so far, Credit to the Kiwi!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0014_zps454337dc.jpg
The last remnants of the break are being swept up here with 8km to go, so it's time to form the trains. All the sprinters have been well protected over the climbs, and only 2 riders have gone out the back today. S.Richardson of ITV was unlucky after losing his line downhill, he'll lose towards 5minutes today, whilst Astarloza looked ill on the days last climb, pedalling squares would be the understatement of the century

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0015_zps627cc691.jpg
7km... 3 trains appear to be forming behind the relay, On the right is a disorganised line of sprinters, no team seems to be controlling that, though strangely it has a PGR man at its head, perhaps a decoy line by the team from Down Under? Menawhile on the left is the real PGR train, tracked by Bouhanni, Oss and Bennati. Finally in the middle line is the 3man IoQ line, for Sagan with Veenhof, Poulhies, B-H and Demare.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0016_zpsc8a4719f.jpg
4.7km... The days penultimate hill has really broken up the trains, the question now is who can organise in time for the finalé.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0018_zpsf3f4c0cb.jpg
3.4km... PGR have refined it somewhat Goss has 2 men on front of him and is tracked by Boassen-Hagen and Veenhof in the only real line left. IoQ are giving it a go on the right for Sagan, but they only have Gallopin left, he's got a lot to do if he's to deliver his sprinter in condition to contest

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0019_zpsbd5d93c7.jpg
2.1km... A lot to do, but he seems to be doing it! Sagan has Simon on his wheel whilst on the right Kreder is leading out for Goss.

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0020_zps2c01d47d.jpg
1200m... Kreder isn't up to speed and Veenhof has given the PGR leadout up as a bad job, preferring to take the reins up himself with over 1km to go. Sagan has the pole position and the finish looks built for him, he has to favourite at this point!

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0021_zpsa86add0f.jpg
800m... Sagan launches! His opponents are badly placed, except Veenhof who has been leading himself out for over a kilometre after his team failed to arrive...

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0022_zps368fffbd.jpg
300m... Sagan is going to take it, Allianz are going well, and Goss is on the wheel of Veenhof in the sprint for 2nd place

i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0023_zps34f5327d.jpg
i1337.photobucket.com/albums/o672/baggieboys33/PCM0024_zps161bc28c.jpg
Sagan wins Stage 3 of the Paris-Nice, Veenhof is going to take second and will surely be wondering what he might have done with an effective leadout from his own team, who were simply invisible in the closing kilometres. Never the less Sagan was favourite today, and he takes a brilliant victory to take the Maillot Vert

Tomorrow will be a better day for Veenhof I suppose, the finish is more challenging, so Pietropolli will be a great leadout(being a great puncheur as well).
Unless Voeckler feels great and places an amazing attack, but we'll be riding for Johan normally... Wink

TheManxMissile
Chavanel looking very strong for us at the moment. Bouhanni just disappeared though, which is a shame.

Dominant win from Sagan on a perfect finish for him. This is a good race so far

Feillu, learn to position yourself.

Nice job by Veenhof!
And Baggie, are you wanting to cause a fight between ING & Veenhof? Pfft
Ah no, Voeckler 11th. Most annoying position to finish in...

Sagan had to win this one, but Veenhof won't be happy.

And pff, Rodriguez beating Gilbert alreadu?

Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

What can I say... SGL can always use another sprinter Wink
Perhaps Veenhof might perform better as a key man within my German team Wink

Well, who knows, maybe Veenhof doesn't even speak German? Also, he has a 2-year contract.
He will get plenty of support in the really important races for him though(f.e Giro)

Besides, feeding the debate between the team and Veenhof is just too much fun when I can provide genuine stuff for you to complain at each other about Pfft

I can understand that Pfft

But the team loves Veenhof, so nothing will happen Wink

I like that discussion about my rider Banana

but too clear some things out.

@Ollfardh
I am not amused indeed Angry

@baggieboys32
do I need to adress you to Tha Rules

@Jesleyh
Johan's nephew is German, he needs to speak German for that matter and besides German sounds awesome Cool

@baggieboys32
yeah it is a lot of fun and also should give me some development points for the next season

@Jesleyh
The Team has a weird way of showing that

@TheManxMissile
as lead-out of The Manx Missile, Farrar or Bouhanni, no thank you

Well, it's not proven that Johan would've done it with the team fully behind him. Look at Strade Bianche, where he was the best sprinter Wink
But yeah, Veenhof gets more support in the next races...

Ah yes good, I also support Radioshack still standing behind Andy Schleck!

That's something that I have noticed myself as well, maybe ING doesn't want to extend after his contract (he would be 30 then, the dropping age Sad)

wait why am I saying this again?
