UCI does good thing it seems.
The big announcement is that UCI will broadcast its events live on YouTube
UCI’s live broadcasts will be available all around the world with exception of those countries in which TV channels already show UCI events.
This only goes for countries who don’t already have tv coverage (or bought the rights), so this is a globalisation thingee
First event will be Louisville 2013 World Championships in Cyclocross.
Awesome Certainly means more cycling for me most likely, and hopefully a better quality, since streams aren't always that good.

I don't know if this has been revealed yet in here so:
"Frank Schleck is banned for 1 year starting in 14/July/2012, so he will be missing next year's Tour."
Maybe this time Andy races better.... |

But yeah, that's a bit setback for Fränk I guess, but he misses this year's Tour too doesn't he? Or wasn't he planning to ride it?

Believe me, he wanted to ride it. He's missing 50% of the races he cares about.
I would've preferred a two year ban, but this more than I expected. Positive for Andy's chances at the Tour, even though doesn't think so himself.

A setback? He should be happy he's not getting banned for two years as he should. Not yet at least.

Well, it's the UCI. They could also have decided a three-months ban, starting now...

It's not the UCI, it's the Luxembourg Anti-Doping Agency.

Well, ok...
Doesn't really matter, my point was that riders like him(I probably mean Italian & Spanish guys ) get too short bans most of the time

Maybe I'm just showing my ignorance again, but I thought the only two options were 6 months ban if acciedental (I fell on the needle) or 2 years? How did he get 1 year?

Xipamide isn't banned by WADA, afaik.
I think that's why. It's obviously still wrong to give him just one year, but nothing to do about it.

Andy is probably going to use dope himself in solidarity with Frank so the two can serve a ban together.

On cyclingnews they state it was because of the low amount of Xipamide found:
The Disciplinary Board could have issued a maximum two-year penalty, but went with one year after noting the extremely low amount of the banned substance.
What bothers me the most is he should have been judged as a 2nd time offender. It's sickening that the low dosage contamination excuse is getting sort of a tradition. But hey who doesn't mistake his saltshaker with his Xipamide container at home? Leave poor Frank alone.

He will never ever win the Tour anyway. Hopefully he will take the Vuelta seriously, the course would suit him well.

Agreed, I mean, where's this sport going to if national agencies can't bend the WADA rules to give lighter bans to their domestic athletes ?
As a comparison, for three "no show"-s, Offredo got banned as long as F. Schleck for an established doping offence. Sounds logical... |

Considering the past history of the Luxembourg authorities I'm amazed they didn't go with the usual avenue of making up a completely preposterous excuse to not hand out any ban at all.
Then again, he's a repeat offended so they had to give him something.
