I can't stay away so Hesjedal is back. Please give feedback as I know I can make it better and more enjoyable. I hope I have many followers and maybe when I get PCM 13 I will continue this with Hesjedal at Garmin Grin

My Plan


So today is the only flat stage. I am going to try and stay out of trouble and help in the leadout.

The Race


With 10km to go there was a break of two 1.11 ahead. The whole team is on the front leading out Dumoulin.

The break managed to stay away and Lemoine takes the win. 2nd is Chtuoui and 3rd is Leezer. Dumoulin came in 6th place.

Baugnies going for the break of the day.

With 183km to go Baugnies was on the front after not getting in the breakaway. Going up the finishing hill the first time he dropped 113 riders. Some big names including Vande Velde, Cunego, Scarponi, Hoogerland, Chavanel, Hermans, Pinot, Anton, Gerrans and Brajkovic. They are 1.06 behind the group lead by Baugnies.

They caught up only after 10km. We tried hard to keep them behind but it didn’t work.

With 100km to go 117 riders are still in the main group including most of the favourites. Leukemans is on the front.

With 8km to go Schleck was leading by 51 seconds too Vande Velde, Cunego, A.Schleck, Scarponi and Hermans. They then had 28 seconds on Visconti, Freire, Kelobnev, Nicolai and Gerrans. Then my group was 35 seconds behind them.

The race was the world champions the whole time. He takes the win ahead in amazing fashion.

I came in 22nd but it was a hard race so I am happy with my performance. I am especially happy with the team and Wout Poels’ performance. He came in 14th place. Great result for us.

Well I am happy. I only lost 7 seconds to Basso and with 1 hill and 2 mountain stages left it is looking good to win the overall.

Poor luck in Amstel but he could definitely challenge for the victory in the Giro del Trentino.
