As of this year a lot of them are. Which explains Europcar's performance

Beware. You're mixing steroids with corticoids. Corticoids have become legal, not steroids. Both are used to grow muscles, but for that purpose muscles are more efficient, while corticoids have other effects beneficial to sportsmen too.
And if there's been talks of a much wider use of corticoids by the French peloton, there's been no special mention of Europcar or their riders here. Plus, MPCC teams stop all use of corticoids 2 weeks before any race, any rider needing it 2 weeks prior or during the race would not take part or abandon it. If they follow their own rules, that is.

Other than that: I'd almost bet my salary that there were other ways of doping than using classic steroids.

(I'm going off topic. Sorry)

There was testosterone, but from an interview Hinault gave where he was talking about testosterone it's clear he doesn't know anything about it (he talked a lot about it but it was clear he had no idea what the hell he was talking about)

Hinault's talked a lot about subjects he knew crap about. Must be looking for some publicity. He's also deliberately claimed bullshit about subjects he should know quite well. That doesn't mean a thing to me.
And yes, there were other doping products in his time, even if corticoids was the most efficient and widespread stuff. Testosterone, regular steroids, and amphetamines. Hinault once was leading a strike against controls during criteriums. They were all on amphetamines during criteriums...

Nice Work Rolland , he was 92th on the Dauphiné.

He is the best young rider of this tour. JHe totally deserves it.
Yep, he's probably been the most impressive riders among the young ones during this TDF. Yet he speaks like a retard. Praised be Jeremy Roy instead.

Andy is the new Poulidor or Zoetemelk.

I think I'll stop following pro cycling for good if he keeps on riding till he's 40+ years old. Pfft

I'm truly sorry but you've just lost your bet. The ear-speaker guy thinks. Not Frändy.

He won the stage to Mûr de Bretagne.

I was beaten, but it's also worth noting that he's the best rider in the green jersey competition who hasn't failed to make the time cut in any stage. The winner in my eyes.

The Schlecks fucked up. This is the best opportunity they had in years. Only 1 long time trial, 4 mountain top finishes, a TTT where they have the strongest team.. Contador doing the Giro.
Then half of the other contenders fall away due to falls and injuries...
Not a better opportunity!

AND THEY STILL MANAGE TO LOSE!
They didn't utilise the Pyrenees. Lost stupid time in downhills and had 1 stage where Andy did a good move. That's it. Not good enough.

Next year 2 ITT's again and you can forget about it.

I agree with everything what you write, sadly.. well except of parts which I put to bold.

I don't believe that this was their best opportunity ever. We will find it in first days of August. I think the main problem was that they looked too much on Contador all the Tour. If there would be no Contador in this TdF, I think they would beat Evans.

About other contenders. Sorry, but Wiggins, Brajkovic, Vinokourov or Horner aren't contenders for the win or podium, they are contenders only for the top 10. No big threats for Schlecks. Only 2 which could be possibly problems for Schlecks would be Van den Broeck and healthy/in form Gesink. And still, only maybe.

And will be there next year 2 ITTs? I bet we will see a prologue + long time trial in the last week. I would like to see 2 long time trials with prologue and TTT as well, but I think the trend is there wil be only 1 TT in next year's TdF..

But still, yeah, they fucked up this.

Klöden was having his best season for quite a while, he'd probably have been a serious contender, had he not fallen several times.

Hehe, it would be way easier to write this, hah? Pfft

And about Kloden, yes. I forgot on him, he could possibly fighting for the podium for sure.

It's not what I mean. You can be as glad and happy as you like because of their performance. But, unless there's something you haven't told us, you've got nothing to be proud of.
You may feel proud of something, if you've done something for it. Would you be their D.S., their trainer, their team mate, somebody from their staff, maybe their family, etc. then you may be proud.

But anyway, I expected this. I hate Cadel, but still he probably deserved this win. Andy and Frank were fighting till the end. I am really proud of them. And in the end, at least big dream come true.. Tomorrow we will see both brothers on the podium! Banana

And please shoot Czech commentators.. The biggest surprise of this TT for them.. Samuel Sanchez. They are total idiots.. Angry

I virtually did that. Angry Grin And I'm still not speaking about the horrible pronounciation.

As happy as I am for Cadel, I can't help thinking that the Schleck's lost this Tour. They had by far the strongest team, and were way too defensive in the mountains. Andy showed some guts to take Stage 18, but in the end their their defensive tactics cost them.

So stoked. A great day for Aussie cycling. I know there are a lot of people that don't like him and I can understand why, however he has ridden his heart out and I feel he deserves this thanks to his great chase of Andy up the galibier and the absolutely outstanding Time Trial he put in today.
Top stuff.

Congratulations to Cadel, his team, and all his fans around the world.
Kudos to Tony too, but back to work tomorrow Smile
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

True. But anyway not all steroids are corticosteroids, right ? HGH, for example, is not one, I think.
And it's only the corticoids that have been shamefully legalised, not the whole steroids class.

Well deserved for Evans, I don't like him much, but he was the best overall, is in the form of his life and could not waste this opportunity.

The Australian don't like to count their chickens. Nearly is not good enough, you either win or you don't. There is no second, only the first loser....

They've been here before remember, Evans lost it twice and last year he broke his elbow just as he got yellow. Also, he didn't even get yellow 'til today.

As far as the Australian press were concerned, there was nothing to report, until something happened.

That's not to say that they ignored it. Lots of Australians were aware that it COULD happen, and they were talking about it, and hoping for it too.

However, the Australian press have now gone mad and a praising Cadel to the highest heavens.

It may be the greatest Australian sporting victory since Pat Cash won Wimbeldon. Back then in 1987 thousands of Aussie kids donned checked headbands and headed to the local tennis court.

''It's going to be one of the biggest sporting achievements that an Australian has ever [done]. It's humungous,'' Matt White, Australia's national road cycling co-ordinator, said.

After near misses in the 2007 and 2008 editions of the Tour, Evans' triumph is a massive moment for the sport in Australia.

The victory makes the 34-year-old the oldest winner of the Tour in the 88 years since Henri Pelissier finished on top in 1923.

Such has been the dominance of Europeans at the Tour, that Evans is only the third champion to have come from outside the continent's clutches.

Evans' performance also ticks one of the few remaining boxes on Australian sport's 'to do' list.

The weight of the achievement must be considered up there with the nation's finest sporting moments such as Australia II winning the 1983 America's Cup.

I am very happy for Cadel and the Australian cyclists. To be honest, I'm a little bit jealous because I know that the Australians will now go mad for cycling - and there's talk of a national holiday on Monday for Cadel. he'll be feted by Autralsians whenever he goes home now.

Unfortunately, if Mark Cavendish wins a 20th stage of the Tour tomorrow and wins his first Green jersey it will only be noticed by die-hard fans. There will be no mass reporting and 99% of people in the UK will still have no idea who he is....

I've always felt the criticism directed at Cadel was harsh. He's one of the fiercest competitors in the sport and, I think, quite a nice guy, too. Sure, he's had some bad moments with the media, but he is always under so much pressure to perform, not only from Australia, but also from himself. He puts everything into his cycling, and I am so happy that he has finally silenced all his European critics with this massive win.

You should have heard the Australian analyst:

"Samuel Sanchez is a terrible time-trialist."
