Stage 15 -- Cortina d'Amprezzo - Passo Pordoi

img251.imageshack.us/img251/4586/15gdiprofile.jpg

img812.imageshack.us/img812/1056/15gdi1.jpg
Pinot losing contact with the front group right before the summit of Fedaia

img821.imageshack.us/img821/2138/15gdi2.jpg
But the groups are rejoined at the bottom. Amazingly Rolland is still in the group! And since Pinot had speed problems at the last climb he is to ride his own pace up Passo Pordoi, to hopefully minimize the losses.

img806.imageshack.us/img806/576/15gdi3.jpg
The speed isn't fast enough to drop Pinot, so it doesn't look like we are going to lose any time

img861.imageshack.us/img861/97/15gdi4.jpg
Pozzovivo wins two stages in a row!

img822.imageshack.us/img822/4360/15gdi5.jpg
Pinot is just around 10 seconds behind him, great result to a stage where things looked very dark at a point. Rolland lost 30 seconds in the last k, still a great performance

Even though Scarponi is 3rd, only "1'09 behind, he thinks it is a good idea to try a breakaway. He gets a lead of 3 minutes on Pordoi and a maximum of 8 minutes before the packs starts relaying.

img580.imageshack.us/img580/7153/16gdi2.jpg
Cunego and Arroyo attacks, Scarponi is 2 minutes ahead.

Giro d'Italia Stage 20 -- Torino - Crescentino ITT

img232.imageshack.us/img232/3999/21gdiprofile.jpg
My experience with long TTs, is that there is a lot of time to earn if you save energy to the end of the stage. Therefore Pinot will start slow and increase his speed through the stage.

CUNEGO vs. PINOT

Since all of the other important placements are already decided, I will only focus on the duel between Cunego and Pinot for third.

img12.imageshack.us/img12/6898/21gdi1.jpg
Pinot setting off

img863.imageshack.us/img863/4431/21gdi2.jpg
On the first checpoint he is 15th "46 behind

img62.imageshack.us/img62/7929/21gdi3.jpg
Cunego is 9th "36 behind, which means he needs 41 seconds to beat Cunego

img828.imageshack.us/img828/8246/21gdi4.jpg
Pinot is 18th, excactly 2 minutes behind. He still has a lot of power left, so he will really increase his speed from here.

img844.imageshack.us/img844/9163/21gdi5.jpg
Cunego in a preliminary 12th, 20 seconds in front of Pinot, "1'01in front on the overall standings.

img577.imageshack.us/img577/7131/21gdi6.jpg
Pinot has a great finish, and is placed in 3rd "1'02 behind Michael Rogers.
This means that if Cunego is 8th "1'33 behind, he will finish 3rd.
