Speaking of Vuelta. I'm watching the 1996 Vuelta DVD and I've just seen the mother of all commentator screw ups.
Stage 1. 4-way photo finish bunch sprint.
The commentator stands around for 5 minutes wondering who any of the riders involved are, then ends with "and we're out of time. bye"
........

Fränk Schleck has never been the super consistent pure climber some people believe him to be.
He is goddamn irregular and sometimes yes, he has his day and can follow the best. But he won't be able to follow pure climbers everyday, even in the form of his life. He never has been able to do that.
There will be a day where he loses a minute or 2 on guys like Anton or Mosquera or Rodriguez and then F.Schleck is done for.
If the same thing that happened to Frank happened to Gesink you would be crying over his bad luck and how he's not fit for the race.

Good stage by Nibali, he looks in good form!
For tomorrow either Petacchi or Cavendish takes the stage win. |

Most impressed today by Van Garderen. Really looking forward to how he does later on.
Anton looked good though. |

I_Mayo..wait a 3ŕrd. week and wait TT..There Nibali will get he's point (one at least with 1'30)
I didnt say that it will be a sweep. Of course Nibali is better TTer and he will get his points but i think there is too many hard mountain stages (especially with mountain finishes), where i think Anton will get so much needed time to feel safe for time trial. |

Apparently all of Team Sky's riders have some sort of food poisoning. So they are lucky to still have 7 riders in the vuelta. poor Sky
Simon Gerrans: This morning I thought that I was OK, but damn was I wrong. I just spent another day throwing up in Spain.

he is not win favorite..he is not even podium favorite. He is great rider (one of my favorite ..and favorite for year 2011)..and Vuelta without Mosquera is something different. |

Since today German Eurosport is working with me. But therefore all other channels are now deactivated???
Should have a word with the houseowner
But I also think Cav will do it. The surprising sprint winner was already for this GT. |

Cardoso in a flat sprint? I'd be amazed
