Great stage..Sastre trick..risk but good thinking..to you also noticed that Menchov also droped to Sastre...just before the attack at front. Poker players..
Efimkin..how long this can follow.. Strange season that Caisse had so far..spanish team best riders has been two russians..;
Evans was looking much better today..
And I cant understand ..how Menchov blocked Evans sprint..there was so much room, wide road. Menchov looking super strong..he even didn't opened he's mouth in sprint (he's max effort trademark)..somebody still thiking that Devolder is coming back..?
Sastre isn't still usless. |

Devolder isn't a real climber and he'll never be. he was just lucky to be in the good break at the first mountain stage. then his TT is very good so... he took gold for a day... with a bit of luck he'll do top 15 maybe even top 10... but he'll have to do better then past 2 days... |

I suspect that in the near future some russian user comes to this topic saying:
"We Russians own. Menchov is going to win this Vuelta."
"Or Efimkin." |

it's would become time the russians start winning something if you see how big there country is compared to let's say luxemburg.... which has a couple of great riders by the way!!! |

Piepoli wanted the stage win, so I think what he did was pretty valid. it's not like he's going to stand still and let his chances go down the drain just because that might interfere in the GC standings. if everyone thought that way, no one would do anything except the GC riders.

Not as a stabile performer, no. He did show it in the Tour de Suisse, but this tops it.
Mandri and Monfort have proven their worth too, I think. With Deignan the first Irish climber... Nahh, I simply can't finish that sentence!
But what I meant to say: a little hope for the French teams in their years of mediocricy... |
