Ryan Eastman - Bontrager 2013 February
sutty68
To have three riders finish in the top twenty two with no form is a very creditable result Wink

Ian Butler
It was a quite alright race, it definitely counts as a prep race Wink

FreitasPCM
Dombro finishing in the main group is good, yes. Smile

Thanks all. Wasn`t as good as possible but good enough.

I have some problems once again...don`t know what is wrong with my savegame. Yet another race crashes and I would have to skip the race. Once again a preparation race for Keukeleire, who is not getting enough race days this way before MSR.

Luckily so far no Eastman race was influenced, but this might still come during the season.

I have two options now:

1. Copying DYN_cyclist/team etc. and reinstall PCM and restarting a career with edited stats/teams...but then being in January again and would need to repeat soem races or to plan different.

2. Continue this season and skip buggy races. But wait for the next season to restart with all edited transfers/stats etc. This way I would also be in January but this is where I would have been nevertheless.

I tend to do the 2. option but obviously this costs a lot of motivation when you can`t race as you had planned. Even more if a Eastman race will be bugged in future.

What do you prefer?

Its sad when the game wont do as its told, it totally takes your motivation away Sad

But i would also choose option 2 if it had to come to that Frown

So far the Eastman races work. Wink
Had some more problems with 2 races but Vuelta a Murcia worked with Eastman.

Due to the ManGame, university and real life I don`t know when I find time to make the reports. Can be tomorrow, can be next week. Wink

Only do them when you have the time, University comes first Wink

Vuelta a Murcia

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/logo-1.jpg

The Vuelta a Murcia is a 2-day stage race held in Spain. It`s part of the UCI Europe as 2.1 race. It was first held in 1981 as amateur race before becoming a professional cycling race in 1985. Record winner with 3 trophys is the Spaniard Alejandro Valverde.

Route in 2013

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/profile.jpg

The race is down to 2 stages. A mountain stage on the first day and a 13km time trial on the 2nd. Due to the short length of the time trial it`s also suited to pure climbers if they can create a big enough gap on the long climb.

Bontrager Squad

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/team-1.jpg

Dombrowski and Serry will lead our team here. Also Parker can do well if having a very good day. For the rest of us it`s about supporting the team as much as possible and hoping for a spot in the Milan San Remo squad soon. Brown will also have an eye on the time trial.

Startlist

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/startlist.jpg

Favourites

*** De Gendt
** Karpets, Zabriskie
* Armstrong, Dombrowski, Zubeldia

De Gendt combines time trialing and climbing perfectly and is the big favourite. Garmin with veterans Zabriskie and Armstrong also sent a nice duo. Karpets and Zubeldia sure belong to the stronger time trialists, while most others led by Dombrowski are pure climbers and will surely try to attack on day one.

Hope Dombrowski can take a top 5 or a stage win ;-)

Lets hope that Ryan keeps up his recent good form Wink

Vuelta a Murcia

Stage 1 - Archena - Sierra de Espuña (190,7km)
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_1-1907.jpg

The first stage will surely give a first impression of who might win this race. Maybe we will even see a decision if the gaps are too big for tomorrows TT.
As non of our leaders is a good TT specialist we really need to ride offensive today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_5.jpg

Ian Boswell is also riding in Murcia for his new Sanofi team. When I was close to him we had a small talk. He seems to feel well in his new team although he won`t be their leader here. They go for young French Bardet and Calzati.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_8.jpg

4 riders in the breakaway. But two are still riding solo behind. One of them is just mentioned Bardet, sho might be a danger for the GC. Seems like Sanofi really plays out their good number of possible leaders.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_10.jpg

At the first sprint they catch up to them making it a group of 6.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_12.jpg

My task is pretty easy today. Get some water bottles and support your team mates as much as possible. I won`t mind seeing that I often get my freedom in the hilly races.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_14.jpg

Climbing the Cat.2 with 78km to go it`s Garmin doing the pace. With Zabriskie, Armstrong and Stetina they have some good options.
But Armstrong seems to be within the guys working, so Zabriskie might be their first choice.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_16.jpg

55km left and 3 riders attacked: Denifl, Milan and Herrada. We immediately decided to send Serry with them to put pressure on the other teams.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_18.jpg

Bad luck for Boswell. Just a few kilometers in front of the long climb he punctures and won`t come back. This leaves Calzati alone in the reduced peloton as Bardet is still ahead.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_20.jpg

22km left and Garmin still controlling everything.
Serry and his companions still have 1min advantage with 48s more the former breakaway.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_22.jpg

12,2km left and the two breakaways come together.
The peloton is still 1'18 behind and down to 44.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_24.jpg

Parker, Mannion, Berry, Brown and myself are still with Dombrowski but already having huge problems. Only Mannion seems to feel still pretty well while Parker really has a bad day obviously.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_26.jpg

Seeing that Serry has some problems in the breakaway and the peloton is coming closer and closer Dombrowski attacks on the steepest part with 9,3km to go.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_29.jpg

Or did he just wait? Serry is taking his last energy to help Dombrowski creating a bigger gap.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_31.jpg

This leads to more and more attacks. Zabriskie, Txurruka, Rubiera, Gomez Marchante, De Gendt, Sastre, Bak to name just a few.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_33.jpg

Herrada, Dombrowski, Zabriskie and Denifl come over the top first with a 32s gap to Bardet and Milan and almost a minute to the next late attackers around Txurruka. Then bad luck for Herrada. He crashes in the worst possible moment but luckily he didn`t forced another rider to hit the ground as well.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_35.jpg

Dombrowski really pushing now which leads to Denifl losing contact on the descent and also Zabriskie seems to be more careful but he knows that he is the far better time trialist.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_1_37.jpg

Joe couldn`t get rid of Zabriskie but at least he wins todays stage and takes important bonus seconds. Behind them a huge gap to the next.
But due to some not understandable decision by the officials the first 3!! groups were counted within the same time. So even the 11th today will have chances on the overall win...which means instead of just one there will be a few better time trialists than Joe tomorrow. Shit decision.

Again a bad decision by the organization, but still, a great with by Dombro and he even might target the overall win. Smile

Ian Butler
Too bad for Boswell and a shitty call at the end. But it's a win and it's the leader's jersey Smile

sutty68
Great win for Dombrowski Grin

And a Great start for the team in Spain Wink

dienblad
Crap decision, the 11 bug continues in 12..... Still great win for Dombo!

That's a shit choice, anyway great win for Joseph.

Thanks all. Was really unlucky with the decision this time. Still I haven`t expected the win, so nottoo bad.

Vuelta a Murcia

Stage 2 - Murcia ITT (13km)
i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_2_39-13.jpg

After yesterdays decision Dombrowski will have to fight to rescue the podium here. The short length of only 13km should be good for him as he normally struggles a lot against the clock.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_2_40.jpg

Time for me to perform. It surely wasn`t that bad but far from my maximum. Should be somewhere in the middle of the rankings today.

i1101.photobucket.com/albums/g434/Roturn1988/Eastman/Murcia_2_42.jpg

As very last Dombrowski starts from the ramp. The yellow jersey pushes his forward but it`s not enough. 89th today losing 1'05 on todays winner Armstrong. Zabriskie as 3rd wins the GC. Positive thing is that Dombrowski was quicker than half of yesterdays first group and will end as 5th on the GC, which is still a solid result for us and better than expected.
