I hope this entire post is ironic.
De Gendt did two grand tours in his cycling career. Two. He ended on the podium on the only one of the two he started with modest GC ambitions. Conclusion: no conclusions possible yet on De Gendt. Comparing him with GT contenders is guesswork and personal interpretation.
The end.
you know there is only 5months age difference between them?
but as i said you cant compare them, neither has hit what they are capable of
the fact that Gesink has all those results at a very similar age says a lot though.
Both are leaders here. The better rider, is the one that does better, is that acceptable.
If you cant draw conclusions on a 25yearold in his 4th pro season then when can you?
You can draw conclusions only by the fact that he attacked in a flat stage like yesterday instead of a mountain stage
And it's funny how this people claim that De Gendt is better than Gesink and then when they are proved wrong, they say that you can't compare the two of them.

Who was the teammate?
Hernandez I think.
Clarke beats Moncoutié to the top again. Not looking ideal if he still wants to win the KoM jersey again.

Moncoutié, possibly, but it looked like Clarke really hurt himself in the acceleration up to the last mountain sprint.

Lead down to 1:30, the break has no chance.
But if I were to pick a winner from the break it would be Bakelandts. |

Yeah he was shaking out his legs a lot near the summit. Maybe more than just lactic acid?

90" and 9 km, he can afford losing 10" per km. Doubt he'll make it. |
