That was a close finish

Cavendish is at the current time maybe top 10. In 2-3 years, when he is more experienced, and Robbie and co. are gone he could be top 5, and i consider that the top tier |

Today should give us a good indication of who is really looking in top form ahead of the cobbled classics, which are just a few weeks away now.
There were no attacks and a tough headwind meant the pack regularly got thinned out on the cobbled climbs and non-cobbled climbs alike. With 62km to go, CSC took advantage of this as Nicki Sorenson and Fabian Cancellara sneaked clear.
After 10km of chasing, Liquigas managed to bring Pozzato across, aswell as Matti Breschel
But Cancellara didnt want any support and had soon ridden away from them all
Cancellara's lead grew and grew and grew and grew and grew etc etc 1 minute with 45km to go, 3 minutes with 25km to go, 5 minutes with 10km to go. Its too easy for him!
So with 10km to go, Coyot decided to make his move for 2nd as he attacked and got a gap.
Fabian Cancellara meanwhile secured victory and looks in devastating form
O'Grady pulled Breschel clear of the peleton in the closing few kilometres and came close enough to Coyot to allow Breschel to sprint past and take 2nd.
Kopp took 5th ahead of Hushovd while Hammond takes an unexpected top 10 finish with 7th.

Cancellara is going to dominate, but nice top 3. I know say that know matter how well you ride, the big cobbled classics are out of your reach |

I shall enjoy proving you wrong. Neither Coyot nor Nolf are in top form yet - and you have yet to see our cobbles leader Nolf ride as our team leader yet

To win, you could easily post some top 3's, plus I wouldn't mind being proved wrong. This is an awesome story, so you deserve the victory. |

By saying they were out of my reach I thought you were suggesting that I would not get a top 5. Sure a win may appear to be out of the question, but a good daily form, a bit of luck and getting in the right move - then who knows?

Team: Millar, Hagen, Konovalovas, Swift, Thomas, Chtioui, Stannard, Blythe
David Millar is our out and out leader for this race while everyone else is here to gain valuable experience points. Hagen is not in form but will look for a decent result in the sprint on stage 1.
Stage 1
LPR take control of the sprint as Marcato leads out Bozic with Hagen behind the Slovenian.
But it looks like LPR mixed up who should lead out who as Marcato is obviously stronger.
Marcato stupidly stops sprinting as Reynes comes through.
The Spaniard looks to have it won before Romain Feillu sneaks past him on the line, extending his lead in the continental standings and proving why he is a future green jersey winner at Le Tour. (And a transfer target for DFL )

2 Vicente Reynès CAISSE D'EPARGNE s.t.

24 Matteo Tosatto LANDBOUWKREDIET - TÖNISSTEINER s.t.
25 Andreas Dietziker TEAM LPR s.t.
Stage 2
A very hilly stage lasting less than 100km, Stage 2 is all about patience and waiting to make your move at the right time.
Millar ignored the many attacks throughout the day and made his move, as planned, with 6km to go at the foot of the final slope.
Siutsou, Azevedo, Morabito and Vogondy countered him, and they would fight for the win.
And the Belarussian takes it, but Millar is in a perfect position for overall glory

Stage 3
A flat 10km TT
Bradley Wiggins set the benchmark time for most of the stage
But Bobby Julich found an extra second on the course and became the new provisional leader.
Julich would have to settle for 2nd though, as with a daily form of +5, David Millar tore apart the opposition to win the stage and the overall classification.

We went for an aggressive approach of breaking clear of the bunch with a fast tempo on the cobbled hills and looking to stay clear. But after 50km of hard work ahead of the peleton, the plan failed so we more or less gave up for the day.
Guess who won by loads? Cancellara!
Still no sign of Boonen though.
