It will be hard to beat Evans this year. The Schlecks will have to gain huge amounts of time on him in the mountains if they want to win.

I was so nervous watching the stage online!!!
May be I will be fired from my job (cause of too much internet usage) BUT I DONT CARE!!!
VIVE LE TOUR!!! Gora Euskaltel Euskadi!!!
Big Samu today... Andy took it away last year... but I was sure that he was strongest than Vanendert. Frank put a lot of pressure but he wasted it all to reduce the gap... but didnt have the legs for the counter attack.
I hope Samu could make a double now... I dont think he could fight for the polka dot jersey... unless he holds to Galibier and Alp d'Huez double points. |

Contador to win the tour! in my eyes pure comedy, just look at last year the exact same thing happend
But last year he wasn't so far back in the GC, and he hadn't a knee injury.
if you have a knee injury like they say, you can't follow the attacks like he did. period. last year he was 1 min 40 sec behind after the first mountain stage. On verbier he took 40-50 sec on A. schleck
Verbier? TDF 2010? .
His knee could be feeling better by the moment we hit the alps, but there are many little things that are worse for Contador comparing to last year.
His team is imo weaker, he already had several falls and of course this year he isn't as fresh as he was last year. Contador won one of , if not the, hardest Giros in recent history. |

He has a knee injury. Period. And he wasn't 1'40'' behind, it was more like some seconds. Also Verbier? WTF?
2 years back. that knee injury will be a lot better by plateau de beille. and then contador will attack and nobody will be able to follow. leading to contador winning the tour. damn you contador.
dont you guys found it a little suspicous that he dropped in the last 500 metres? while he parrying attacks just 1 km down :/

He dropped when he couldn't keep up the pace anymore. Do you think he's losing time on purpose?

Her had trouble closing the gap when Basso and Evans put the heat on. He looked bad all climb, his accelerations was far worse than normal, and his pedalling is much less fluid than usual. He is hurt, and it does affect his riding.

If they keep doing what they did today, they will managed to do so. At some point, like today, they have to let one of them go.

I'm not sure about Contador ! Normally he doesn't have any bad days but probably today he had one. When he would have real problems with his knee I think he would have lost more time. Surprise for me is Cunego. After the good Tour de Suisse I didn't expect him that good in the Tour. And when Evans doesn't have a bad day in this years Tour it will be difficult for the Schlecks to gain enough seconds in the mountains. For me this years Tour is open like no one in the last years. |

Well, today was just an 'appetizer' to the rest of the mountain stages of the Tour.
