Soler seems to have fallen, though atm it's not clear how badly.
Meanwhile the peloton is mainaining such a high speed that there's a risk of splitting after 35 km.
It would be a shock if Soler wouldn't fall in this race. |

Obviously he crashed into some spectators.
He needed quite a long time at the race doc. Also some spectators were checked by docs. |

They even neutralised the race for this. |

Cavendish has shown plenty of times that he can win without a leadout train. It makes it easier, but without it, he's still the fastest sprinter. And if anyone thinks that Greipel can't win without his teammates leading him out to the finish line, I'd advise you to watch the the 1st stage of this year's Driedaagse de Panne-Koksijde. You may learn something.
I dont agree, maybe he is the fastest
Make your mind up! Or instead, name someone who is faster...

Cav haters will be Cav haters. They doubted him last year in the early season, despite him saying he was focusing on the bigger races i.e. Tour and then Vuelta. And he duly delivered.
And this year theyre back. He's not the fastest anymore because he hasnt won much yet this season .. even though, once again, his first main focus hasnt even arrived. First the TDF and then the Worlds, via the Vuelta. He is riding all 3 GTs, and so far, he was the most successful sprinter at the Giro, 2 stages to Petacchi's 1. Yet some idiots want him to be winning in every single race, no matter how big it is. Even Greipel has stopped doing that now that he wants to actually challenge the likes of Cavendish where it counts.
If he is outsprinted in the GTs then this can become a more valid discussion, until then, go watch the final kilometres of Stage 18 and Stage 20 of last years Tour de France. Look at Cav's huge HTC leadout .. no, there wasnt one .. and look, he still won, easily.

Just read that one reason for the neutralisation probably was the waiting for the docs, who cared for the spectators.
Now everything open again. |

This is the problem though, he wins so easily normally that when he doesn't people start questioning him, also it's more fun when you don't know what's going to happen so people try and convince themselves Cav isn't going to be as good in the future.

Indeed, Cavendish does seem to be treated differently to say, an Andy Schleck. I dont see anybody questioning whether he will be up there battling for victory in the TDF, just because he isnt winning every other race in the season that he competes in that has mountains.

So why did he desperately wanted to have that MSR spot last year when he was focusing on Tour and Vuelta. Ruling out Greipel who was in the form of his life, while he struggled to come back from dental problems.
Thats the only problem i ever had with Cav. No doubt he is by far the fastest sprinter in flat and controlled stages and there was no doubt last year or this year he will be in form for the Tour.
He has the necessary power, ambition, elbows, positioning and last but not least often a great leadout. |

Main difference is that Schleck is a main contender to Contador (atleast the past years). Cavendish is the best. Cavendish makes things boring, Schleck makes things a bit more interesting. You also got the difference between mountains and sprints.

Massively frustrating.

When it happens over and over again, it's probably not about bad luck. |
